But the consensus before the draft was that the Kraken should be a playoff quality team because the expansion draft rules were the same as when Las Vegas joined the league. Francis decided to go cheap in order to have cap space.... to do what?SpokaneCoug wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 4:49 pmThe Pacific division is the weakest in the NHL. That being said, you have Vancouver, Vegas, and Edmonton that will probably be in those top 3 spots. Kraken can battle for that last playoff spot (#4 in the Pacific). It can happen, but let's be realistic - this is the 1st year. Stuff like what Vegas did a few years ago doesn't happen often.

To build and experience a foundation - then to add star pieces for a run in a few years. Not sure though - don't really know the list of FAs coming the next couple of years.

I was looking at the top free agents for 2022, a lot of pretty good players you don't have to sell the farm on and we've got cap flexibility.SpokaneCoug wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 11:53 pmTo build and experience a foundation - then to add star pieces for a run in a few years.
