Oh, and just heard on the radio that the Kraken have the 2nd highest non-premium avg ticket price in the league to go along with being the 2nd shittiest team. Apparently the estimated cost for a family of four to attend one game is over $600. What a joke!

This is why they couldn't afford to screw up the first season. If you're going to gouge your customers like that, you HAVE to give them a good team. Just a complete turn-off and now the marketing has to switch to "Draft picks!"

Guess it comes down to pulling it off. If they have a young talented cost controlled team in their 3rd season, doubt many fans are still blaming them for tanking their first season

Hey, they dropped the price of a beer a buck to $16 and a bottle of water from $7 to $5, quit complaining

They sold out the entire season in 12 minutes, that was guaranteed. They had all the ability to build a playoff team immediately. The team they put together was projected to be a playoff team. That's what they sold the fan base. There have been a lot of empty seats at home games and the resale value of tickets has plummeted. They're not going to generate the excitement in season two that they did in season one.

Sure, they could have gone in on the first season more in an effort to make the playoffs, made it a more satisfying experience for the fans, instead they tanked it. But if they are aiming their resources at playing a long game. Aiming for an even more sustainable playoff team in the future are you going to hold it against them? Are Astro fans complaining about them tanking 2013?

Vegas made it to the Cup Final their first year. They've made the playoffs every season since, including another conference final. They own the town. Their home arena experience is the best in the league. They have the ability to sustain their success and be a perennial contender. If you knew any of that you wouldn't be...oh wait, you probably do and you're just being contrarian again.
