Re: Alec Baldwin
Saw this during the afternoon today.
"'As for the “Rust” armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, a spokesperson said on her behalf: “Hannah was hired on two positions on this film, which made it extremely difficult to focus on her job as an armorer” and noted, “She fought for training, days to maintain weapons and proper time to prepare for gunfire but ultimately was overruled by production and her department.'”
Looks to me as if they had elevated an unqualified individual to do a critical job and when she explained that she felt uncomfortable with some of the procedures, the "producers" (Alec Baldwin?) overruled her recommendations. My guess is that the producers (Baldwin, et. al.) will try to pin the problem on her being young and inexperienced rather than taking the responsibility for making her do some things she was uncomfortable doing. Does that absolve Ms. Gutierrez-Reed from her negligence? No. She should have quit. But because Baldwin and the other Producers have money and power, they will try to explain it was all her fault!
She should be allowed to continue her chosen career under close supervision for five years. Baldwin and the "producers" should be held full responsible for Involuntary Manslaughter. Their involvement should preclude any of them ever again be allowed to participate in a film than includes firearms.
And my own personal opinion? Screw Alec Baldwin!

Re: Alec Baldwin
Now Baldwin is saying he didn't pull the trigger. Apparently he wants us to believe the gun fired itself.

Must've been made by the same people that made the SUV that drove through the crowdCaptain 97 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 9:14 pmNow Baldwin is saying he didn't pull the trigger. Apparently he wants us to believe the gun fired itself.

Re: Alec Baldwin
He didn't pull the trigger....he released the hammer that hit the firing pin and the bullet went out the barrel.
We know the rest.
It's still a shame that someone had to die before he can figure out how to use a revolver.
It sounds like he was holding a single-action revolver.
The way to shoot a single-action revolver is the cock the hammer, then pull the trigger. I'd assume he never pulled the hammer back far enough to lock it and upon releasing the hammer, the gun went off.
Back in the 1970's and 1980's, Ruger had some issues with their revolvers and did a full recall on the oldies. It had to do with the hammer (when in the locked position) being hit and releasing on their own, thus striking the firing pin and boom. Now all revolvers have a slide that comes up when the hammer is pulled back that protects the firing pin from this accident.
