DeBoer is probably having a tough time seeing the Ocean right now. Like I said I live an hour NW of LA in Moorpark. Safe zone. LOL
California is an incredible place to live.

Any person who argues that Oklahoma is paradise and that California is a shit hole is too stupid to help.
California is a shithole as is Oklahoma but for very different reasons
Yeah... when I was living on the beach and surfing to the sunset multiple days out of the week... it was sure a shithole...

I'm sure Darren moved there to spend $10k a month on a home because it's a horrible, liberal warzone.

Lol... you people are hilarious. Quit lying to yourselves.

I now live in absolute paradise. Was 80 degrees over the weekend. It has rained twice in almost 4 months yet there are seemingly a 100 varieties of green trees from Palms to Pines. Half hour from the Ocean and Mountains everywhere. 15 minutes from the Ronald Reagan Library.

I still have residence in MA so I don't have to pay any taxes other than sales tax which I would have to pay anywhere.

Glorious.

However, If I had lived here during Covid I would probably have a different opinion.

I lived 2x houses from the beach in SoCal and had a ball during the pandemic.

Ya, restaurants weren't open and you had to wear a mask to visit places... but aside from that it was glorious.

Beats the shit out of any day in Indiana or some other hell hole like that.

Here's the truth: Downtown Los Angeles sucks.

Here's the strategy: Don't live there.

It's like people know nothing about California and just assume that every square mile in the state is filled with homeless people and government agents who empty your wallet at traffic stops. Propaganda is a hell of a thing... I also think a good bulk of people hate California because there's a presumption they have that people from California think they're better than others. It's a jealousy thing... not surprising.

A lot of conservative states are not good places to live but they would be worse if liberal. I lived in Columbus, OH for 3 months. Old, flat, decrepit. Literally nothing there. Arctic in the winter. I can't believe people live there their whole lives.

Depends on what you value doesn't it, if you love open spaces, horses and cows then Oklahoma is a great place to live isn't it? I love where I live. Yeah I have beaches and mountains, a warm climate, pretty girls, it's cheap. But what I really love is how friendly it is, the easy going relaxed attitude, it's slacker paradise.

A dignitary from Spain was visiting manila and asked a senator if the Philippines had the quality of "mañana". He replied yes but without the sense of urgency

When was the last time you were back here. How long ago did you move, about 7 years ago?

Yes, but Ohio was settled early and in the industrial age was flourishing - you had so much manufacturing in that part of the country and access to shipping - I can't imagine living there but that part of the country was the manufacturing heart beat of the country - cars, steel, etc. Most people never leave the town they grew up in - those of us that had NO desire to live in Seattle anymore left to places like LA - and discover no one is from here - ha! The midwest - people never leave. Outside of the horrible politics of this state - it is beautiful and I love it. But Jesus is it expensive because of awful governance - taking your money and giving it away. Most people never leave thier birthplace. I cannot fathom still living in Seattle - never getting out and seeing other places. I;ve been to about 40 states - none of them in New England, and most of them while on two different tour busses.
