Yeah, been like seven years, just after Donald's first go at it. I get asked about coming back by a few friends but no interest, motivation, desire, I don't feel like going anywhere in fact. I need to go to manila but just don't feel like it at all. I would do that on the most casual whims before. I flew to manila once to look Visine, couldn't find it in Cebu.D-train wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 3:44 pmWhen was the last time you were back here. How long ago did you move, about 7 years ago?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 3:39 pmDepends on what you value doesn't it, if you love open spaces, horses and cows then Oklahoma is a great place to live isn't it? I love where I live. Yeah I have beaches and mountains, a warm climate, pretty girls, it's cheap. But what I really love is how friendly it is, the easy going relaxed attitude, it's slacker paradise.
A dignitary from Spain was visiting manila and asked a senator if the Philippines had the quality of "mañana". He replied yes but without the sense of urgency

I have probably been to about 40 too. Everything but the deep South and Utah oddly enough. I used to travel a lot for work for about 20 years beginning in the late 90s which of course was all paid for. I brought Lynda most of the time. I will never forget when she broke my work lap top in half after going to Wrigley for a game. Never knew she was such a big Cubs fan. LOL. When I got back to the office in DT Seattle I called the IT guy and said I had an issue with my computer. The look on his face when he saw it. It was like he had WTF tattooed on his forehead. I will never forget that look as long as I live. I said, "Welcome to my world, bro" I married into the high voltage Danger Zone on the Hot Crazy matrix.auroraave wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 4:48 pmYes, but Ohio was settled early and in the industrial age was flourishing - you had so much manufacturing in that part of the country and access to shipping - I can't imagine living there but that part of the country was the manufacturing heart beat of the country - cars, steel, etc. Most people never leave the town they grew up in - those of us that had NO desire to live in Seattle anymore left to places like LA - and discover no one is from here - ha! The midwest - people never leave. Outside of the horrible politics of this state - it is beautiful and I love it. But Jesus is it expensive because of awful governance - taking your money and giving it away. Most people never leave thier birthplace. I cannot fathom still living in Seattle - never getting out and seeing other places. I;ve been to about 40 states - none of them in New England, and most of them while on two different tour busses.
