Since it's been declining for a decade not sure it's trump's policies at the heart, though he's probably not helping
The U.S., the world's largest economy, is on track to lose some $12.5 billion in revenue from foreign tourists this year, a tourism industry group said Thursday, as the Trump administration has led a crackdown in immigrants.25
World's largest economy set to lose $12.5B in foreign tourism in 2025

The study by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and Oxford Economics found that the United States was the only country set to see a drop in spending from foreign tourists this year.

The drop to $181 billion in spending by foreign tourists will put it 22.5% from the peak set a decade ago

Are you implying that you believe (as the article you posted states) that ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS count toward tourist spending?
-Damn, that is funny and shows what a fucked up world we live in, and what fucked up articles you read.

No it's not what it says, they are talking about the tone of the administration's retoric, as well as the collateral damage of tourists being identified as possible illegals and it's effect on someone's decision to decide to visit the united states as a tourist. Understand that the largest percentage of illegal immigration is overstaying visas, it's not illegally crossing boarders
With President Donald Trump leading a cracking down on illegal immigration, making politically charged comments about other nations, and slapping tariffs on foreign goods, there have been numerous efforts by consumers in other countries to boycott U.S. products and calls to skip travel to the United States.

Visitors 'fearful'

Simpson told the New York Times that some foreign travelers were afraid to travel to the United States.

"There are also concerns over visas -- whether they've got the right visa or might accidentally get arrested, which has made people quite fearful," she was quoted as saying.

The report highlighted U.S. Department of Commerce data showing sharp drops in March 2020 arrivals from key countries, including nearly 15% drops from Britain and South Korea.

The drops were over 20% from Germany, Ireland and Spain.

The report also noted other data showing a 20-% drop in early summer bookings from Canada.

"This is more than a dip. It's a wake-up call," said the WTTC.

"The U.S. is welcoming fewer visitors from its neighbors and countries further afield, which is a clear indicator that the global appeal of the U.S. is slipping."

Meanwhile, the report found that U.S. citizens are traveling abroad more, further hurting the U.S. travel sector.

In 2024, the tourism sector contributed $2.6 trillion to the U.S. economy and supported more than 20 million jobs. It also contributed more than $585 billion in tax revenues -- or almost 7% of the total

There's no such thing as "Trump's policies".

Nobody in power just hands their power away. That's all you need to know about the legitimacy of politics.

Politics changes nothing. The only thing that changes anything is in the minds of the cult members. The members of the cult. Not swapping out a new cult leader, but all the members seeing that the entire construct is illegitimate. All taxation is theft and you only need "government" if you're trying to do something that would otherwise be considered immoral e.g. stealing from your neighbor to pay for your child's school or imprisoning someone for growing a plant, or counterfeiting money and calling it "legal tender".

The power of the leaders comes from the order followers. Without the belief that other people have the right to rule over you, they are reduced to simply crime bosses.

Exaggeration might be cooked into these numbers, but tourism is important to the economy. It's equivalent to an export (i.e., something is produced here, and a customer from another country buys it).

Anecdotally, it seems quite a few people (From Canada, Europe, etc.) are deciding not to spend their money in the U.S. It's an indirect effect, but the result is President Trump's policies are hurting our economy.

Is it true that the Director of Homeland Security incorrectly described "habeas corpus"? If so, my grade just want down in one category (i.e., appointing experienced, knowledgable people).

In other areas that I think President Trump is not doing well.

1. Tariff policy is still a mess.

2. President Trump seems to be telling Putin and Netanyahu that they can do whatever they want. I disagree with both.

I can be critical of President Trump as well....

It is total dumbassery to try to tell a private university, like Harvard who to expel and who to admit. It's a private university and he has ZERO say in that. BUT, I also don't belive a private institution should be getting government money. For fucks sakes, Harvard's endowment is worth over 52 BILLION. Can anyone explain to me why they get millions from the US Tax Payer each year?

Well to help fund research that is beneficial to Americans as well as the rest of the world. It's hard for me to understand how defunding medical research is beneficial to Americans or why Harvard should be expected to fund it all themselves
Through research grants, the US government funds about 11% of Harvard’s annual $6.4 billion budget, and these cancellations will be devastating, researchers say. “Harvard cannot, even with its vast resources, just make up for this loss of federal funding,” says Joseph Loparo, a biological chemist at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, who lost two NIH grants for studying repair processes in DNA totalling $4.3 million.

No doubt some other school that isn't going to encourage protests and hate against other groups would be happy to get the millions..... and millions that the U.S. Government is willing to pay for the research.

There must be stings attached for that much money.

Harvard:
52 billion in endowments.

Fuck'em!!!!!

Says the moron who supports a political party that is encouraging hate against groups that Harvard admits to their university.

You know so little about how anything works.

You ever stop and think WHY it is that the government works with Harvard? How or why that started? Because it's where the smartest people in the world exist who solve the world's problems so that Billy Bob in Mississippi can drink, smoke, and eat himself to death but hang on by just the smallest of threads because the medical research they do extends far and wide... but he'll give all the glory to Jesus for the return of his health and preach hate for the people keeping him alive.

Sure, cut all funding the liberal-leaning institutions because you don't like what they stand for. I beg for the Trump admin to do that. Then Harvard and those like them can privatize their research and refuse it to anyone stupid enough to where a MAGA hat.
