Nobody's coming to balance the budget or save the country. Nobody. Dems, Republicans, doesn't matter.

As aurora has mentioned repeatedly, government is grift. They increase taxes, take your money and... poof. It's gone. Nothing solved, nothing balanced. The money just disappears.

You know, I was wondering why EVERY single year "balancing the budget" is a topic.

It's a topic because none of them know how to do it. They don't know how to prioritize and cut programs that waste tax dollars and do no good. Rather than learn about the 'busted' programs, they stead, scheme new ways of raping the tax payers of this once-great State of Washington with MORE taxes.

But don't worry, we are still a year or two behind the way California sodomizes it's citizens....silver linings, right?

I want out of this state so bad.

I think you have it covered pretty well. The thing I don't understand is why you are talking to the brick wall, also known as donn. He has never learned anything, has trouble comprehending what others post and typically doesn't add to any conversation outside of the Mariners section. So as much as I liked your post, I know it has fallen on deaf ears if you expect donn to understand.

And in Washington, the tax the didn't pass, but our Governor Supreme wanted, was to tax unrealized capital gains. What in the flying fuck could cause investments and other forms of investment to tank as fast as that. Talk about committing suicide by tax, this would do it. All I can say is that, thank God our ultra-liberal congress in this once-great state of Washington had enough smarts to not pass that portion of the new tax law.
Oh, I am not 'trying to get through' to them or convince them of anything. Quite the contrary. I am just exposing their predictable and hilarious pattern - just like she/her/they/them - never have they refuted any position I offer - just 'outrage" and/or the standard "assigned response' of "but, but, Trump'. They prove they cannot hold a debate or back their positions or refute or counter anything I offer up. Not one attempt to refute ANYTHING about the disaster the dems have created up and down the west coast - no - instead it's just crickets and 'OMG Trump". Zero ability to take a position, validate a position, or counter other's positions. Zero intellectual ability to engage in any meaningful dialogue - just tantrums and "but trump." The problems I have pointed out are not opinions - they are glaring issues that they refuse to acknowledge. Imagine if your house was on fire and instead of calling the fire department you just pointed to your neighbors house and said 'yeah, but that house isn't on fire, why would I call the fire department?" Absolutely zero acknowledgement of reality - instead they try to distract you with "but trump" just as their CNN overlords tell them to. Every post is an exercise in the lack of critical thinking and logic - and brainwashing. They've already lost the plot - and they don't even realize it - and that lack of self awareness is comedy GOLD. Like Carell in The Office. Utter cluelessness.

And these are the people trying tell you you're the dumb one.

That's why I post - just giving them enough rope while the rest of the forum laughs and laughs and laughs. Dawn has no position on anything - he's a cut and paster - he hides behind other people's opinions - the worst of the worst - because it's cowardly. Note his 'outrage" at the budget being passed - but he cannot tell you a single thing in the budget he disagrees with. Nothing. Just the standard empty, hollow, meaningless "assigned response." Oh, and he'll never be able to point out anything specific - unless he 'cuts and pastes' someone ELSE'S response to the budget - and we all know that will come from the same tired CNN/MSNBC outragers. Please note I am not defending the budget - I make no claim either way - just pointing out Dawn's nonsensical 'assigned response" for everyone's amusement.

wash, rinse repeat.

There's no such thing as a major city that is Republican. That's not how politics works. Cities are always Democrat and rural is always Republican.

In more 'shocking" news - the City of Seattle has the nations highest rate of tourism DECLINE, followed by Portland. What is the common thread? Lawlessness, staggering crime, drugs, homelessness, aka core democrat policy in action - but the study makes NO mention of crime - instead 'blames Trump'.

Wait until you see the tax revenue drop - it's huge. Kinda like I said earlier - you drive businesses out, you kill off jobs, all those entities pay taxes - and now all that revenue is GONE. The result? Another tax increase to cover the loss of revenue - DUE TO INSANE DEMOCRAT POLICIES.

Man, it's almost like I haven't predicted ALL OF THIS happening to Seattle since they defunded the police and let the minions riot and drive all the businesses away. Oh, no, wait a minute - I predicted ALL of this because, you know, I have basic common sense. Too bad the government up there has none that doesn't involve personal enrichment via the Grifting of taxpayers.

Also, here's a shocker, inflation is down, the economy is outperforming expectations? What, whaaaaaat? I thought tariffs were going to send us back to the stone age because, you know OOOOOMMMMMGGGGG TRUMP!

Next up: booming economy OUTRAGE

Interesting!

This is the report cited in the video:
https://www.oxfordeconomics.com/resourc ... line-2025/

According to the report, for the U.S. as a whole, a decline of 8.2% in overnight International visitors is forecast in 2025 versus 2024. From Canada specifically, 2025 year-to-date land crossings for overnight stays are down 28.0% and air arrivals are down 13.3%

"The contraction in international arrivals is most acute in cities highly dependent on Canadian travel, particularly those closer to the northern border. For 2025, we forecast the steepest year-over-year declines will occur in Seattle, Portland, and Detroit."

Meanwhile, in 2024 Seattle and King county had a 5.3% rise in tourism versus 2023 (I assume this is all tourism, not only international) and is at 95% of the number of visitors from 2019 (i.e., pre-pandemic) https://seattlemedium.com/seattle-king- ... rism-rise/ 2023 visitors increased by 8.9% over 2022. https://komonews.com/news/local/visit-s ... -occupancy

To recap:
During pandemic DOWN
2023 UP 8.9%
2024 UP 5.3%
2025 DOWN 26.9%

So, what's the deal with Canada? Why is the tourism to USA down so significantly?
