Bailing Out Blue States

Post by Coeurd’Alene J » Mon May 11, 2020 12:35 pm

Here comes the next farce........

Peel back the onion on why the US needs to bail out states that have never been fiscally responsible and Hello. This will not do anything for this country

So far we have spent Trillions for the likes of: The Lakers and billions for Indian casinos just to name a few............Where do we stop

New York Illinois and Massachusetts are all demanding that America write them a check.........

I call BS

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) touched a nerve recently by suggesting mismanaged blue states shouldn’t be bailed out by the federal government; they should be forced to file bankruptcy instead. President Trump tweeted, "Why should the people and taxpayers of America be bailing out poorly run states (like Illinois, as example) and cities, in all cases Democrat run and managed, when most of the other states are not looking for bailout help? I am open to discussing anything, but just asking?"

Any bailout legistlation should account for status of each states' books on January 1 (/Feb 1/???, pick-a-date pre-major national COVID-19 response). That is the target, or at least the reference point, for help.

Also, holy crap spending money we don't have.

That’s a good suggestion. Trillions bailing out poorly run states makes no sense........
