But you're not 12 years old

Seriously, what bothers me most is this idea that crying about it on social media is the right thing to do.
Agreed.

What also bothers me is that millions of people who should be productive members of society have time to watch this. And comment on it. (Oops!)
Having time means you are efficient and haven't burdened yourself with unnecessary and undesired responsibilities! :)
Maybe the young woman crying on social media is more efficient than she realizes! :)

It took me almost 3 years after graduating UW in 1989 in the heart of the Bush recession to get a decent job that paid over $20k a year. I would have crawled on my hands and news to work 9-5...

The poor pampered little princes.
WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD BITCH!!!

Obviously the Internet and social media have allowed a single person to get our attention. And I suppose that (i.e., "anonymous people all over the world will see me!") might be part of the attraction of people who post things like this snowflake ... excuse me ... young woman.

But why get upset about it? Sure there are people like this. But why not focus on the positive? And there is a lot of that. Screw the anger and high blood pressure that comes from seeing idiots that we never would have known about in pre-internet, pre-social media days.

A little positive: My neighbors' daughter just turned 16. She's close to straight A and wants to go to med school. She has a job coaching gymnastics and volunteers at a senior care facility. She fits in the occasional baby-sitting gig. Too bad she doesn't post on X. I bet she wouldn't complain about not having time for a life. She is living it and building it. God bless her and millions of other young people like her.

It is obvious she played sports growing up. She was the defender on her soccer team that stood there and watched the other team run by her and score a goal. Yet at the end of the season, they gave her a "participation" award!
