No, I saw it. I just wasn't sure what you were referring to. The passage that you quoted wasn't a lie. At the time, the killer's motives were still ambiguous. All anybody knew at the time was that he came from a far right MAGA family. Now maybe Kimmel should have kept his mouth shut, which is a fair criticism.
But the problem here, for me, is that regardless of what Kimmel said, this is still the government pressuring Disney/ABC to take him off the air, which should be totally unacceptable. If this is the new standard, will you be equally supportive, under a Democratic administration, of the government fact checking Fox news every night? Was that a lie? I think the statement was stupid, but I also think you would have a hard time proving it was a lie. (for the record, I suspect that most leftists didn't want the assassin to be a leftist - so what?“The MAGA gang (is) desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said on his show.
You have to be pretty stupid to think a conservative is going after Kirk (or Trump).

The video is all over the internet - have you not watched? If you haven't, why are you commenting on it?
“The MAGA gang (is) desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said on his show.
The fact you aren't even aware - while posting about it - is, well, not at all unexpected. Absolutely on brand for the usual suspects. Throw a tantrum about things you know nothing about. Tyler is not MAGA - he is a far left wackadoodle. He was doing it for trans rights - he said so. His lover/boyfriend told the FBI this. Kimmel is a far left loonie LITERALLY lying about it on air to millions of people - 'trying to score political points from it." Notice the always present HYPOCRISY from the left? Kimmel got exactly what he deserved - the market place isn't interested in this lunatic nonsense anymore.

Ted Cruz slammed Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr for pressuring ABC to pull comedian Jimmy Kimmel off the airwaves, warning fellow Republicans the threats create an "unbelievably dangerous" precedent that could haunt conservatives.
The Texas Republican, in a new episode of his podcast released Sept. 19, compared Carr's tactics to those of a mob boss as he denounced the FCC chairman's threats to revoke ABC's television license before the network indefinitely suspended "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"
"He says, 'We can do this the easy way or we can do this the hard way,'" Cruz said, referring to Carr. "That's right out of 'Goodfellas.' That's right out a mafioso coming into a bar going, 'Nice bar you have here. It’d be a shame if something happened to it.'"
Cruz made clear he is not a fan of Kimmel and disapproves of Kimmel's remarks regarding the Kirk assassination. But he said the government should not be able to dictate what is appropriate for public airwaves.
"I think it is unbelievably dangerous for government to put itself in the position of saying we're going to decide what speech we like and what we don't, and we're going to threaten to take you off the air if we don't like what you're saying," Cruz said.
Cruz said a Democrat down the road will be in the White House once again, warning, "They will silence us. They will use this power, and they will use it ruthlessly.
"It might feel good right now to threaten Jimmy Kimmel, but when it is used to silence every conservative in America, we will regret it."

Like when the Biden admin pressured Twitter to kick Trump off - even though according to Twitter's own head of security - he had not violated any terms of service? You mean like that?Cruz said a Democrat down the road will be in the White House once again, warning, "They will silence us. They will use this power, and they will use it ruthlessly.
"It might feel good right now to threaten Jimmy Kimmel, but when it is used to silence every conservative in America, we will regret it."
Or when the Biden admin pressured Twitter to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story - silencing real truthful news - in an effort to win an election? Like that?
How about when the Biden administration pressured Twitter to bury covid content that went against the narratives churned out by politicians and CNN - who all PROFITED off of Covid - and it turned out the dissenters were correct? Do you mean censor ship like that? Censorship that affected millions and millions of people, costing people jobs and homes friends - and the list goes on literally. But, but, Jimmy! Jimmy the victim!!!!!!!!
ALL of this is in the twitter files for those that read it.
Love all the 'convenient memories" we have. Biden's over the top suppression and censorship to sway an election and silence people who wanted to make their own medical choices = crickets by leftards. But Kimmel? OMG - that's just a Bridge too Far.

The hypocrisy is just astounding.
The FCC has to get involved in BROADCAST content - as that is what they police - NOT cable or streaming. The FCC is literally obligated to look into this stuff. How many people understand that while commenting? Gonna guess none?

Wash, rinse repeat.

This strikes me as attempting to apply 20th century political motives to something that looks to be 21st century meme culture. Your kids are way out there terms of your political views

Kimmel's back.
Disney, the parent company of ABC, acknowledged the return of Jimmy Kimmel Live! in a statement, saying: “Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive.
“We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”

Re: Charlie Kirk has died Rest in Peace
It's going to be interesting how this all plays out. Sinclair and Nexstar stations are still pre-empting his show - so it won't be seen on a large portion of ABC stations across the county. ABC never said Kimmel was fired, only suspended, so his return should not be surprising. However, now it's going to get interesting - is Kimmel contrite and apologetic - as he should be? Or will it be hate hate hate as usual? Kimmel's ratings have been dropping for 10 straight years - will Disney keep him on air or pull the plug. They certainly crafted a well-thought out press release that tries to appease everyone. lol - so typical. I have no problem with him returning to work - he's just not someone I can watch - I have no interest in the left's never ending supply of hate. It's no way to go through life. It's funny how the left wackadoodles claim Kirk spewed hate speech - yet no one has shown a single example. Classic loony leftists - just making up shit and then getting irate when asked for proof.douche wrote: ↑Mon Sep 22, 2025 9:12 pmKimmel's back.

Switching gears a bit here but still on topic with the OP. Something that has been driving me insane is how after Trump was nearly killed by a rooftop shooter just over a year ago is there not one person on the security detail (either Kirk's or the campus police) charged with scanning all the roof tops with a pair of $50 binoculars!!?!?!? Just incomprehensible incompetence.
Kirk would be alive and his wife and children would have a husband and a father.

Re: Charlie Kirk has died Rest in Peace
Agreed. So often there is an "overcorrection" after a tragedy (or near tragedy - I'm thinking of all the years taking off shoes because of the unsuccessful "shoe bomber"), so why not after the assassination attempt on Trump? I know looking at rooftops 200 yards away expands the perimeter of what must be secured, but not doing so has a terrible cost.D-train wrote: ↑Tue Sep 23, 2025 3:39 pmSwitching gears a bit here but still on topic with the OP.
