I think CNN is just catering to its left leaning base that want to read any glimmer of hope that Trump gets removed from office. They aren't forming viewers opinions as much as they are chumming the waters. They aren't turning vegan sharks into carnivores they are just giving them what they want.

The media is always half this... It's half tell you what you want to hear... It's a capitalist system, so you need some of this to capture the viewers. the other half, though, is agenda. So, the critical viewer has to decide when they're being catered to, when they're being lied to, and when both are happening simultaneously. (Think Greg Johns.. LOL)

Fear is what all of the "news" is selling, though. There has to be a crisis. A controversy. A divide. Without that they have no viewers.

Johns is paid by the team he covers; there's no illusion of 3rd party objectivity. I don't mind it really. The team gets pummeled 12-2 and the headline is "Seager launches home run into second deck"... Glass is half full! I don't really need hard hitting reality reporting when it comes to sports... we can all read the box scores.

I think all local broadcasters have to toe the homer line to some extent. If people choose not to watch the games, then they're also not going to consume the related media. I peaked out during the initial Pete Carrol / RW / LOB era. I was gobbling up every article I could. But these days I mostly just watch the games and then get my suger coated Greg Johns updates via the MLB AT Bat app on the phone.
