I read this AM that the Pentagon wants to build AI fighter planes. Why is this a good idea? Well, most of the cost of a fighter is tied up in the survivability of the pilot. Without a pilot, a plane can make tighter turns without having to worry about the pilot blacking out! And without all of the crap to keep the pilot alive, a plane can carry more ordinance. But here is the problem; who controls these planes? Anyone who controls the AI can attack any enemy they perceive. That's a scary thought. Who does Joe Biden think is his enemy?

It won't be Biden who has control. He'll be long gone by the time these weapons are developed. We'd better hope that whoever it is has some moral fiber and does not take advantage of their position as Commander in Chief! Remember Biden's boast? Those with AR-15's cannot defeat an F-15. Where do you think AI fighter planes will lead us?

I don't even trust self-driving cars with a driver. Plus, China or Russia would hack the system and have our AI planes drop bombs in NYC, Chicago or San Francisco -- or some other city that has turned to shit. Hmm. that might work after all.

Isn't AI used in most (all?) online searching? (i.e., on X, Facebook, X, etc.) As I understand it, AI provides search results that "fit" with what I've already viewed. So if I have a habit of searching for and viewing cute puppies, I'll get more results with cute puppies. If I search for and view left wing crap, I'll get more left wing crap.

Plus, AI gives us results to get really, really pissed at the other side.
