To me...it is no different than getting a flu shot every year. Dinky needle, fairly sore arm and you feel a little wonky for a day...great big nuthin', especially compared to the Shingles' vaccine. Those shots felt like someone had shoved a knitting needle in my arm and left it there for three days lol.

I really don't know anyone who is vaccinated who is "living in fear of Covid". (Of course, I would not describe anyone I know that way, even before vaccination.) I think people consider it to be a polite gesture, i.e., you care about other people (masks really were never about protecting yourself, but from preventing spread).

Ah yes, and when I go in for my proctor exam I know that I will be taking the swab in the bum for other people. It's not my I own heath I should be concerned with... this is what makes me good and special. Yes, I know that the mask doesn't work but I don't care... I shall event a moral reason to make me feel superior for following the rules.

Been seeing a lot of signs at businesses that say if you're vaccinated, you don't have to wear a mask anymore. Visited a local brewery, Safeway, and nursery over the last few days -- felt great to be maskless. Seems like 75% of the people in there still had their mask on though. Not sure if that means they're not vaccinated or they're still living in fear of COVID.

Was 84 degrees yesterday - had a Little League game. No coaches had masks, maybe 10% of the kids still wore them. Parents in the stands drinking beer/wine without masks. Feeling normal again.

Side note - my 2nd dose of Moderna did nothing to me. Was a little tired, but didn't get any sickness, fever, nothing. Lucky I guess.
