Actually, Trump is back in June. Not saying I support him now, but much of what he did the past four years benefited many people in this country.

So Coug, I have a question for you. Who benefits by our open borders and who is hurt by it?

I really don't know anyone who is vaccinated who is "living in fear of Covid". (Of course, I would not describe anyone I know that way, even before vaccination.) I think people consider it to be a polite gesture, i.e., you care about other people (masks really were never about protecting yourself, but from preventing spread).

1. A polite gesture towards vaccinated people who are probably also wearing masks who can no longer get Covid. Based on science, I find that nonsensical.
2. A polite gesture towards unvaccinated people who aren't wearing masks????? Based on the vitriol spewed towards this group, I find that nonsensical.

If nonsensical is a bad thing (I assume that is how you mean it), I'll still go for an excess of politeness any day. People caring about not spreading the virus is what kept this *relatively* in check until the vaccines arrived.

I expect the 'mask mandates', whatever is left of them, to be gone by June. Trader Joe's issues a corporate statement that they are no longer enforcing the masks. Look for the 'masks required' signs at TJ's - they are gone. At the gym this morning, I didn't wear a mask - the owner was there and he didn't either. Masks will be long gone before summer - cities and states are rapidly eliminating any mandates - even in schools. The country simply will not abide by it any longer and the gov knows it. The fear porn won't work any longer.
