Trump in his first term championed and funded the research and development for the mRNA covid vaccines. Not quite curing cancer but I think it was a great achievement, saving millions of lives.

(If anyone is reflexively against something Trump, or any other president does, he is a jerk and an idiot. I thought it was ridiculous, but my statement ("many Canadians didn't like the suggestion that Canada should become the 51st U.S. state, and that affected travel/vacation choices") is based on personal conversations with Canadian citizens.

Don't lose the plot to go off criticizing something that wasn't even discussed. You stated this thread saying that people aren't traveling to Seattle because it's a violent and dangerous place, etc. The evidence seems to point to the decline in travel from Canada driving the Seattle numbers. So unless you can provide evidence that Canadians just in 2025 figured out how horrible Seattle is (after tourism going up in 2023 and 2024), I don't agree with your statement.
