I tried verifying what you say here and found exactly the opposite. What makes you believe he's richer than when he started?Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 1:27 amYeah totally... Musk is only $150 billion richer than when he started.Mel Bradford wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 1:15 amI'm reminded of the fact that neither Trump nor Musk are gaining money from the DOGE endeavor. In fact Musk is not receiving a paycheck and Trump is working for $0. The true definition of public servants.
Oh yeah, but liberals say Musk was never 'elected to office...and thats right, He's The Presidents personal auditor.
......and for that matter the deep state, the bureaucracy, and the DC lobbies....weren't elected either.
Nothing like a billionaire rigging the system to make himself more money and gutting programs that he doesn't believe in ideologically.
You can't be serious.

Re: The Purge
How the heck do you know he's not making money. His shutting down USAID plays right into the hands of the Chinese, musk has strong business connections with them. Musk does a lot of business with the American government, both defense and aerospace. He now has access to his competitors confidential information. He's has been given access to a treasure of confidential government data. Here he is calling data more valuable than gold. There's reports of him already using it to train AI systems. There's a ton of ways for him to make money of of this. I couldn't imagine him notMel Bradford wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 1:15 amI'm reminded of the fact that neither Trump nor Musk are gaining money from the DOGE endeavor. Musk's act might not be selling that well around the rest of the country or even with republicans.

A survey from The Economist/YouGov released Wednesday showed the number of Republicans who want Musk to have "a lot of influence" currently stands at 26 percent, down from 47 percent in a previous poll conducted soon after President Donald Trump's victory

Musk hasn't done shit yet, he's taken on probably the easiest target available USAID, the low hanging fruit. If his approach is already being questioned by the public what happens when he goes after the targets held dear by people.

This is exactly what we voted for. No conservatives are going to listen to what you dumbasses think we think.

Hey, it's a pair of polls, it's not about what I think. And it doesn't have to do with what you voted for, it's the direction of the thinking that's interesting

Re: The Purge
Its questions that have been asked for a long time.
"Who will teach the teachers ?"
"Who will govern the governors ?"
"Who will audit the auditors ?"
You draw quite the conclusion Donn.....that in essence Musk is in it for himself in a game of tech monopoly and he's seeking advantage over any competition. Which can only conclude that he has dangerous reign over the Central government, no oversight, no accountability...just raw power to set the table for himself.
Musk has dealt with the swamp head on. They've tried to regulate him and press him in court. California taxes and regulation drove him out. Now, "they" hate him with passion because he has lunch at Mar-a-logo. Of which the entire liberal establishment is on the edge of violence. Tough shirt.
"The audit is completely legal, certainly warranted, and there IS oversight because Congress controls and is responsible for every decimal point in the hunt.
The fact is DC in all its machinations has been grab bag for decades. Our latest indicator under Biden was a trillion in debt practically every six months. Now we have an audit that will extend to July 2026. USAID is just the tip of the iceberg. Education, Military and the social security Administration (and everything in between) are next. Of course the (D)s are upset. So are some (R)s. When you shed light on the ecosystem of subsidies, kickbacks, bloated expenditures, A DEI global initiative, and endless spoils for politicians and who magically become lobbyists, not to mention so-called "charitable" foundations, so-called news organizations, NGO's of every stripe and color, and lots more....all with their hand in the till....it was just a matter of time.....
and the time is now.
Just for co-measurement: the industrious criminals of little Minnesota have bilked the Fed through our state government of over a half billion dollars through the Dept of Education and Medicare. Who knows how much more because it all happened under a (D) trifecta ...Gov and both houses.
And its every state, red or blue. 5 will get me 10 Washington State is a mess with the same.
The parade of the pathic however rolls on. Patty Murray, the tennis-shoe Senator who came into office on a reform mandate has become the object of her former angst. Now her angst is at Musk and the first words out of her mouth are "Illegal access to Treasury payments". Go ahead, file your law suit, get your compliant judge...it will go nowhere....because its not illegal. But Murray, like all the other blather heads love to play to the press and the low information libs on their emotional rollercoasters. Good grief, she's been in office since the early 90's. Her resistance to reform was completed long ago. She's just another dinosaur that was consumed by the monster. The swamp loves its privacy. Entitled, dishonest, morally bankrupt and lost.

Re: The Purge
I didn't say he was in it for himself. I pointed out some of the ways he can profit from it. And because you feel others may have profited has nothing to do with it, isn't that what we are trying to get rid of?
Come on Trump and his wife have their own bitcoins now while at the same time he wants to deregulate them, conflict of interest much? How is that clearing the swamp as opposed to just repopulating it
