Yep, Biden has already said minorities can't figure out how to used the internet or get an ID, how in the hell are they supposed to find a drug store.

The level of butthurt on the Right Wing Mariners Forum regarding racism in this country is amazing. I wish I could give all you oppressed, old white men a hug. It's gonna be OK guys, you'll get through this.

Re: Vaccine vs. Mask
You know, historically, White people, especially conservative White people, have not defended minorities against racism. Is this concern that minorities are now disparaged by Biden (or Democrats, or the Left) a form of "wokeness"? That is a serious question. (Again, historically, conservative White people dragged their feet - they certainly did not lead when it came to things like equal access and voting rights.)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filibuste ... tes_SenateOne of the most notable filibusters of the 1960s occurred when Southern Democrats attempted to block the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by filibustering for 75 hours, including a 14-hour and 13 minute address by Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia. The filibuster failed when the Senate successfully invoked cloture for only the second time since 1927.[28]

Yes. Those were conservatives. You aren't disagreeing with me, are you? They were Democrats, yes, of course. But conservatives, which was my point. Back when each of the main parties had both conservatives and liberals. Lots of conservative southern Democrats then (after Civil Rights legislation) smithed parties and became Republicans.D-train wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 6:44 pmhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filibuste ... tes_SenateOne of the most notable filibusters of the 1960s occurred when Southern Democrats attempted to block the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by filibustering for 75 hours, including a 14-hour and 13 minute address by Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia. I think I remember this correctly: after signing that Civil Rights legislation, President Johnson said "We (he meant Democrats) just lost the South for a generation." Ha! Two generations and counting.

He (Johnson) also said that if they passed this law "the niggers would be voting democrat for 100 years".gil wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 8:05 pmYes. Those were conservatives. [sorry for the word, but it was the quote by a past President]

Amazing quote. I'm inclined to call him a piece of shit, but I don't want to insult shit.

Johnson was a racist piece of shit. You should look at some of his quotes that are on line.
But we all need to realize that, those were different times, and to judge the history with todays standards isn't fair.
