4.7 Trillion is more than 2/3 of the federal budget (6.75 T). The article and the post on X don't say if this is for one fiscal year or over a number of years. I'm curious.

DOGE latest find....$700 billion in Social Security fraud.

Here in Blue MN the fraud-o-meter is pushing 700 million in just the last 2.5 years.

One can only imagine whats happened in the land of Inslee.

Source for this? 700 Billion is almost 1/2 fiscal year 2024 social security expenditure. Or is this multiple year?

OK, so there is a guy with a YouTube channel and an X account saying this. I am skeptical that the rate of fraud regarding social security payments is close to 50%. Assertions are not proof.

ANY fraud is too much. And I think the (now fired) Inspector General for Social Security said it was about 1%. Huge amount of money, and completely unacceptable, but nowhere near $700 billion.

It is a staggering #.
Lets look for updates and more confirmation.

Just an observation...SS has been politically untouchable for most of my life anyway. Now, (according to my link) the #'s don't add up. We keep hearing about 'insolvency' in a few years and the fact that there is no SS account. Todays payers underwrite todays recipients.
