Re: Why Does Power Corrupt?
That's some wisdom there. And that explains why leftists, who make up by some estimates less than 15% of the population of this country have been able to take control of virtually every institution from local school boards all the way up to one of the two major political parties. Their minds are controlled by the negative aspects of human nature and that drives them to seek power. Of course many liberals and conservatives that seek power are given to negative aspects (primarily greed) as well, but some aren't. On the other hand 100% of leftists are, and with them it is rage and envy which is why they exult in violence and the destruction of civilization.

Liberal and conservative are both ways to rope people in. Liberal is more for the young, dumb, poor, emotional, non-white. Conservative is more for the older, wealthier, whiter, more logical person. But, they are both the same shit. Two wings of the same bird. They are both a ruse.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 5:09 pmThat's some wisdom there. There are good people that attempt to do good things by running for office, becoming a cop, or joining the military - probably that affiliate with both team elephant and team donkey. They are not bad people. They are just misguided.
I'm sure Seattle is Bust has a good heart. He just hasn't figured out yet that the government is 100% immoral. There is no way to legitimize what the government does, and that's why they have to call themselves "government" because then people don't question it.
There is power that transcends left vs right. All you really have to do is look at the central banks. The international monetary fund. Etc. The left vs. right paradigm is just theatre for the slaves imo.
When will the average person stop worrying about who the next POTUS is and start focusing on step 1 let's become 50 independent "countries" and then start working toward true individual sovereignty for each person!!!

Re: Why Does Power Corrupt?
"Corruption" already exists in the human heart before power enters the equation.
Floating around the web is a testimony from an Asian man who immigrated to London in the 50's. He noted the unspoken cooperation among the Londoners as he went about daily life. Here was a city bombed heartily just 10 years pervious. Yet, a level of honesty and relative unity was prevalent.
He noted a news stand where an open can received payment and folks could even make their own change. Growing up on Queen Anne Hill they were called 'honesty' boxes. But since the late 50's and early 60's a whole host of tensions have entered the equation.
We can trace the demise of any country, people or culture.....all the way back to Cain and Able. We could simply chalk it up to entropy, predicted by the second law of thermodynamics. Everything is in a state of decay. And yet viable human government arose from the time of Moses and has shaped civilization ever since. Hope is not in government but its ascent to the truth. Yes, objective truth is indispensable.
It is not government in and of itself that is bad. It is the people that form its initiatives and in so doing codify its corruption as a force upon the mass.
Oh, don't we know from all the cast members since Washington crossed the Delaware.
Undivided power is always a ticking time bomb.

Re: Why Does Power Corrupt?
I think a lot of people who go into politics, do go in for the right reasons. But they quickly learn (and are told) to not 'rock the boat'. Because humans are naturally self-serving, they soon adopt the idea that, 'if it's good for me, it's good'.
This is why government runs so fat. Lots of government employees, fat salaries, perks, fat pensions, etc. All at the taxpayers' expense. The notion of serving others is quickly banished with that fat lifestyle.
