Fortunately Seattle doesn't have the kind of people that would turn the city into Detroit, or even Baltimore. But this is Dorkan and the city council doubling down on their liberal stupidity. Not that they would necessarily have to, but I'd like to see the police intentionally be inefficient just to stick it to Dorkan. I can't imagine being a cop, or any kind of employee and having your funding cut in half. Seattle cops must HATE Dorkan's guts...if she has any.

What happens, imo, when you defund police is Seattle may see an exodus of the current citizens and an influx of riffraff.

The funny part is that should Seattle need help policing the rioters, they will call in assistance from the surrounding suburbs. And of course the suburbs will respond. I hope clearer heads prevail out here in the hinterlands and our mayors and city councils would look at that request and file it in the shoulder shrug file. Good luck, Seattle. There go the businesses, there go the people, there goes the hospitality industry, there goes your tax base. I give them until just after Christmas to experience the impact of their decision. By that time, the economic impact will have hit, but they will blame it on Trump and covid to try and save face.

Best time to cause mayhem in Seattle? On days the Seahawks play. Not because people will be going to the games, but because the police presence down there will be slightly decreased yet still drawing cops away from normal activities.

Who knows, maybe good things will happen here with this decision. I'm not holding my breath, but it is possible that should enough millennials take it in the shorts one way or another, they will wake up and figure out that their utopian, socialist world doesn't work. We should join hands and hope that defunding the police solves the "systemic racism" that causes 1000s of innocent Blacks to be killed by our racially insensitive criminal justice system. This move ought to encourage 1000s of Blacks to move into Seattle in order to take advantage of the "White Flight" that defunding the police is designed to accomplish. If I was a billionaire I'd buy up 200 homes in all of the highest rent areas where all the "Woke Liberals" live and convert them into "Section 8 Housing".
