I would abandon them and strike out on my own, find a stream and follow it down to civilization, which in a rural area will likely be Republican. Also I would tell them I was alone and they don't need to go back to look for anyone else.
I would set up a camp, get a nice roaring fire going, get them comfortable. Then I would slice my arm, just enough to get a good blood flow, which I would let soak into a piece of cloth. I'd properly wrap the arm, then take the bloody cloth and hang it up a few feet off the ground behind the camp, just enough so the scent could waft down wind. Then I would sneak off and run for freedom, leaving them there.

If you've ever seen "The Edge" you know what happens next. :D

I haven't seen that one but the Bear attack in the Revenant was off the freakin hook. lol

Oh, that's a good one, too. The Edge is a GREAT film. Highly recommend. Hopkins, Baldwin, a nasty bear. Epic adventure.
