87k IRS new agents

Post by D-train » Tue Aug 09, 2022 10:51 am

Have they thought about the fact that in a country with an extreme labor shortage it may be difficult to find 87,000 qualified auditor accountant tax specialist types that have always dreamed of working for the IRS???

I guess they can impress family and friends and pick up members of the opposite sex at bars by just saying "I am a proud IRS agent!"

Average salary and benefits comp of prob $150k a year x 87k = $13.05 Billion a year. Probably another couple billion to recruit hire and train. So they will need to come up with $15 billion a year just to justify their existence. Let's say each new agent audits 10 tax payers a tax season. That is 870k tax payers. So they would need to find $15 billion/870k = $17k per audit in addition revenue just to break even.

These are details these idiots never bother to get into.

Lois Lerner exemplified the democratic game plan…Terrorize the opposition to shut them up….The DOJ and FBI are also in this game. Saul Alinsky and Barack approve this message….

The rat bastard commies claim this is to make the rich pay their “fair share” and these agents will be going after the top 1%. That is mega bovine excrement. The top 1% hire tax accountants (and members of Congress) to make sure they don’t pay a lot of taxes.

Obama told the IRS to go after Republican's.

Biden tells them to go after all Americans.

What a great party the Democrats are. :?

The Democrats are creating their own version of the Brownshirts. Just as Hitler did in the early 1930's. If they are not stopped now, they will never be.

My Mom and Dad taught me that the only people who should be afraid of the police are people who have done something wrong. By that logic, the only people who should be afraid of the IRS are people who cheat.

I was audited thoroughly a few years ago. Was it pleasant? Hell no. Lots of time spent compiling records and 4 hours of meetings. But I came out completely clean because I play by the rules.

Brownshirts formed in the '20's, I believe. At least, that's what I recall from my class on Nazi Germany at WSU!

So you are saying that YOU are alright with our government militarizing the IRS.

I have clean taxes as well, but I don't like the idea that at any point anyone (from the IRS) can audit anyone for any reason.

And what's your take on Obama telling the IRS to concentrate on republican's rather than their standard practices?

No, I'm not alright with militarization, politicization, or any targeting whatsoever. If Obama did that, I think it's despicable.

If the bill passes the house, that is exactly what will happen.
Government cannot hire that many people and not tell them to make sure they are needed.....basically, earn your way.

Just the idea that the IRS has that much more power is horrific.

I don't know how you hire 87K employees qualified at anything. Even semi-skilled employees are difficult to hire in those numbers, but here they're talking about auditors. I would tend to think that growing the auditor workforce by this amount would take something like 10 years.

And obviously, adding this many auditors probably means that most of us should expect to be audited at some point.
