Interesting thread. Good to know there was some bad luck that went along with what looked like a pretty bad inning in the box score.

Williamson with a good start for Everett. So far he hasn't allowed a run in his first 3 starts, but he failed to get through the 2nd inning in the first 2, and was bailed out by the relief pitcher. Tonight he gets throug 2.0 ip with 4 K, 1 BB and 0 H.

19 year old Juan Mercedes in for relief, who's been pretty good this year in Everett with the exception of 1 bad start.

Mercedes got smacked around in the end, he can get SO's and can limit the walks but he has given up a few hits which he can work on.

I don't get too worked up about ERA in young guys, especially if it's a few bad outings surrounded by a few good ones. Casetta-Stubbs is another guy that is young in that league that had some potential, but probably won't blow you away with his numbers

Congrats to Tim Lopes, getting the call up to the show after 7 yrs and 3500+ milb PAs!!! You put in the work, you kept at it and it's paying off. Awesome to see *standing ovation*

Don't worry about the innings with Kirby. They made him wait a month to even pitch and are obviously slow playing him hard core. After Carlson and Gilbert they are probably ecstatic that he is able to pitch the same summer he was drafted!

What about offering Mike Leake back to the Cardinals for their second best 3rd base prospect, Elehuris Montero, one of their top international prospects from the Dominican Republic..... I know they won't part with Nolan Gorman, but this guy looks to have better bat control than Gorman.... What thinkest thou?
