So he was unlucky with the Astros and lucky with us. Makes sense. Once he settles into a normal ~.300 BABIP he should end up at about .270-.280 BA on the season.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 10:11 pmHow about this one...

I would imagine it ends up around 0.300 but he does consistently put it in play hardSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 10:11 pmHow about this one...

Hey, I agree, it seemed reactionary.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 9:56 pmThen why make that trade? Shenton was more than a throw-in for a guy they don't even trust to take Graveman's place.bpj wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 9:26 pmOur bullpen is so good, we don't even need him to be.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 9:11 pmWhat happened to Castillo? Looks like maybe they're done moping. Or, the bad luck turned a little.
The Closer and the save have always seemed odd. So, your setup man faces the 3, 4, and 5 hitters in the 7th or 8th and that is somehow less important than the Closer getting three out against the bottom of the order in the 9th? The Mariners and many others have started using their best in high leverage situations, regardless of innings...and why not?D-train wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 9:49 pmYep those days are over and that is actually one of the progressive baseball ideas that makes sense.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 9:44 pmWe really haven't had a traditional closer this season. I think the last series has proven you need someone to close in the 9thMichael K. wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 10:53 pmThe Closer and the save have always seemed odd. Yeah its amazing that it took so long. I think when the idea of the closer first came about, starters would go 7-8 innings 90% of the time and the closer just closed the out the game. The idea of the set up man came later.Michael K. wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 10:53 pmThe Closer and the save have always seemed odd. Based on my quick research, its Fake news. Who knows, maybe he really did want to be traded but I couldn't find anything to support that and Bounty's link suggests otherwise.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 8:45 pmWe've played the entire series pretty much without him. Is it true that he was hoping he'd get traded?
