Getting the vax doesn't prevent you from getting or spreading covid - I thought everyone understood that. The stupidity is just stunning.
My understanding is that while a vaccinated person can still get it and spread it, that is MUCH less likely than with an unvaccinated person. Do you disagree with that?

And isn't that the point? Knock the virus down. "Break the chain of transmission" before there is a variant more contagious, deadlier, and resistant to the vaccines.
You're asking the wrong questions. US pharmaceutical companies are the single largest advertisers in the US - possibly globally. They pour BILLIONS into ALL mainstream media and social media. Those media outlets NEED that money - so they are NOT going to air any kind of content that goes against the narratives that big pharma wants and needs. They will only further the agenda set out by their largest source of income. All the politicians are in bed with them too. All three hands are feeding each other. This is not about a cure, this is about MONEY. There are cures for many ailments - big pharma doesn't make money in the cure but in the endless medicating. That's all this is, IMO.

Does covid exist? Yup. Is it this savage pandemic ravaging the planet? Not at all. Not even kind of. Not in the slightest. Will people die from it? Sure. Deaths in healthy people are extremely rare - this is not even in dispute. What you are seeing is a relentless assault on free citizens to get a vaccine that - wait for this part - does not prevent you from getting COVID. If you have any common sense you will see this for w3hat it is - a giant money grab being done by big pharma - in concert with the media (motivated by big pharma ad money) and politicians (motivated by big pharma donation money).
a vaccinated person can still get it and spread it
This is common knowledge - and yet - we're supposed to be pressured into getting something that literally doesn't prevent you from getting COVID. COVID will also mutate forever - so do the math here - play the long game - are you going to get a 'vaxx' for every 'strain that may come up? Vaccines that have never been fully vetted? What 'vax' doesn't prevent you from getting the disease? I can't think on ANY - except this one. WEIRD!

The question is "who is profiting from this?" Stop being distracted with anything else. This is a massive money grab - and the best part is it is ALL coming out of the US taxpayers pockets - billions taken by politicians and given to big pharma, and the scary narratives are being driven home by a hopelessly corrupt and irresponsible US media. This will further erode the US's dwindling middle class. It's redistribution of wealth.

Thanks to Biden's Afghanistan disaster, Boeing, Raythen, McDonnell Douglas, etal, are up next at the feeding trough. You can bet on it. It is always about the money. When you run these things through the money filter, you will find enlightenment about what is really going on..
I'm certainly sympathetic to your well-laid out arguments, but I have to ask: are you actually Bernie Sanders? :D I'm also sympathetic to his arguments against profiteering. And I've noticed the way he often says "the question should be ..." or something like that.

Anyway.

1. Definitely the vaccines are big revenue generators. But it seems to me that the governors (at least in Blue states), the public health agencies, and the mainstream media are ALL saying "put on a mask and stop spreading this f*cking virus!" Aren't they? If the big Pharma/government/media axis is a strong as you suggest, why would government and media be pushing to do things that would cause COVID to go away?

2. I don't think any responsible scientist has ever claimed that any vaccine is 100% effective. But the evidence is that the COVID vaccines in use in the U.S. are working. Reducing cases by a factor of 7 in King County, and hospitalizations and deaths by even more. Do you disagree with this?

3. Would you make the same argument about other products of Big Pharma? Treatments for diabetes, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, Alzheimers, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, Parkinson's?

Again, I'm sympathetic to your arguments. I often think about how there is no profit motive for things that people do that don't involve buying goods or services. Living a healthy lifestyle prevents a lot of disease, in my opinion, but no for-profit company is going to tout that unless they are selling a "health food". Watching the sunset is free and one of the best things for the body and soul. But no for-profit company is going to promote that unless it's "stay at our all inclusive $1,000 a night resort and watch a beautiful sunset." LOL

If masks were effective this pandemic would not have lasted 1.5 years with no end in sight. It would have ended in all areas with mask mandates.

It's an interesting empirical question I've been wondering about. How much has the virus been spread by people wearing masks and social distancing? You've made fun of the college kids walking around outside wearing masks. I'd bet a lot of money that they aren't spreading anything when they are doing that! Meanwhile, even with a mask mandate, you don't have compliance from everyone. Not even in the People's Republic of Seattle.

CNN has an article that says hospitalization is 150 times more expensive than vaccination. Doesn't that mean that there is a profit incentive to get people sick? https://www.cnn.com/2021/09/09/health/c ... index.html

I see the advertisement now. People in a crowded bar, yelling and singing and hugging. Use the best advertising techniques to convince people that the cool kids don't wear masks and don't get vaccinated. They same techniques they use to sell beer or coca cola or fast food.

I'm no expert in this field, but I keep looking for data and guidance. It seems to me that masks work (e.g., https://www.kxan.com/news/coronavirus/d ... y-they-do/) Do you know of research results that contradict this?

Really? Biden is mandating that people get the vaccine?

Fuck this guy and his 39% approval rating.

I got the vaccine. But how dare this POS tell people who object to getting it -- for whatever reason -- that they HAVE to get it. Grab a swastika, Joe. Tell everyone they have to get one of those, too.

This guy is doing more to tear apart this country than anything the media alleged Trump was trying to do. Worst assclown President in my life -- and I've disliked most of them. But this fuckface is beyond the pale. He literally can't do anything right.

Because the masks don't help.

This gives the government plausible deniability in trying to stop the spread.

Get vaccinated to protect vaccinated people from you because the vaccine won't protect them from you so you won't be protected from unvaccinated people even after you get vaccinated but you have to get it to protect yourself and others.

I think Joe has way overplayed his hand here -- especially with his abysmal approval rating -- and there is going to be a huge backlash to his heavy-handed edicts. This is going to blow up in his face imo and have consequences he and his dipshit administration never anticipated.

They've been wrong about everything else; I highly doubt they got this one right.
