I'm certainly sympathetic to your well-laid out arguments, but I have to ask: are you actually Bernie Sanders?auroraave wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 6:47 pmYou're asking the wrong questions. US pharmaceutical companies are the single largest advertisers in the US - possibly globally. They pour BILLIONS into ALL mainstream media and social media. Those media outlets NEED that money - so they are NOT going to air any kind of content that goes against the narratives that big pharma wants and needs. They will only further the agenda set out by their largest source of income. All the politicians are in bed with them too. All three hands are feeding each other. This is not about a cure, this is about MONEY. There are cures for many ailments - big pharma doesn't make money in the cure but in the endless medicating. That's all this is, IMO.gil wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 5:43 pmMy understanding is that while a vaccinated person can still get it and spread it, that is MUCH less likely than with an unvaccinated person. Do you disagree with that?
And isn't that the point? Knock the virus down. "Break the chain of transmission" before there is a variant more contagious, deadlier, and resistant to the vaccines.
Does covid exist? Yup. Is it this savage pandemic ravaging the planet? Not at all. Not even kind of. Not in the slightest. Will people die from it? Sure. Deaths in healthy people are extremely rare - this is not even in dispute. What you are seeing is a relentless assault on free citizens to get a vaccine that - wait for this part - does not prevent you from getting COVID. If you have any common sense you will see this for w3hat it is - a giant money grab being done by big pharma - in concert with the media (motivated by big pharma ad money) and politicians (motivated by big pharma donation money).
This is common knowledge - and yet - we're supposed to be pressured into getting something that literally doesn't prevent you from getting COVID. COVID will also mutate forever - so do the math here - play the long game - are you going to get a 'vaxx' for every 'strain that may come up? Vaccines that have never been fully vetted? What 'vax' doesn't prevent you from getting the disease? I can't think on ANY - except this one. WEIRD!a vaccinated person can still get it and spread it
The question is "who is profiting from this?" Stop being distracted with anything else. This is a massive money grab - and the best part is it is ALL coming out of the US taxpayers pockets - billions taken by politicians and given to big pharma, and the scary narratives are being driven home by a hopelessly corrupt and irresponsible US media. This will further erode the US's dwindling middle class. It's redistribution of wealth.
Thanks to Biden's Afghanistan disaster, Boeing, Raythen, McDonnell Douglas, etal, are up next at the feeding trough. You can bet on it. It is always about the money. When you run these things through the money filter, you will find enlightenment about what is really going on..

Anyway.
1. Definitely the vaccines are big revenue generators. But it seems to me that the governors (at least in Blue states), the public health agencies, and the mainstream media are ALL saying "put on a mask and stop spreading this f*cking virus!" Aren't they? If the big Pharma/government/media axis is a strong as you suggest, why would government and media be pushing to do things that would cause COVID to go away?
2. I don't think any responsible scientist has ever claimed that any vaccine is 100% effective. But the evidence is that the COVID vaccines in use in the U.S. are working. Reducing cases by a factor of 7 in King County, and hospitalizations and deaths by even more. Do you disagree with this?
3. Would you make the same argument about other products of Big Pharma? Treatments for diabetes, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, Alzheimers, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, Parkinson's?
Again, I'm sympathetic to your arguments. I often think about how there is no profit motive for things that people do that don't involve buying goods or services. Living a healthy lifestyle prevents a lot of disease, in my opinion, but no for-profit company is going to tout that unless they are selling a "health food". Watching the sunset is free and one of the best things for the body and soul. But no for-profit company is going to promote that unless it's "stay at our all inclusive $1,000 a night resort and watch a beautiful sunset." LOL
