The Angel starter tomorrow is a sack of crap with a 7.11 ERA, while we've got Anderson going.

So, this means he will have a career game, because Mariners are bad against bad starters. Hopefully we can get his pitch count up before it gets too late, then beat up on relievers.

Washington go with Joan Adon to make her* major league debut. Adds another level of randomness to the final day.

I'm in Vegas for Softball National Championships. Twelve teams left out of 46 and we're one of four 5-0 teams. Wish us luck.

Funny there are also 12 teams left in the MLB playoff race.

Would have been a serious downer to be eliminated today, at least we get to survive or go down on our own terms in game 162.

It's big for the young guys to experience this.

I remember a rookie Derek Jeter sitting in the dugout looking at his dejected teammates in '95 when the M's came back to beat the Yankees in the ALDS. It burns in my mind - what must have been going through his mind, how motivating it must have been to be in that moment. He only played in 15 games in '95, won the ROY in '96 and the Yankees would go on to win the WS in 1996,1998 and 1999 with him leading them at SS.
