Why not sign "two" infielders? How about Semien and Bryant, or Semien and C. Seager, or Semien and Story on a 1-year prove it deal. Then use the DH accordingly for whomever to keep everyone fresh?

I’d do that in a heartbeat Semien and Bryant and I would package JP in a trade
Why? Leave him where he's at. He's not a liability and barely makes anything. Use the DH spot to our advantage. The DH doesn't have to be reseved for a player that can't play a position.

Wow I just read that JD would not commit to either white or Lewis being ready for spring training
As well he shouldn't. White, in my opinion, is not ready for prime time and should not be invited to come north with the big club unless he can "prove it!" Lewis should be ready to go. I've had three meniscus surgeries that included ACL replacement/repair. All three allowed me to go full tilt after six months.

Still, I'd look to bring in a 1B/3B type as well as a LF. It would be nice if both were left handed. The cherry on top would be a TOR pitcher to replace KK.

Watching postseason games on TV....just doesn't seem right....

Last year watching Zunino playing in the playoffs.
Now Vogelbach.
Next year it'll be Kyle Fn Seager.

Just crazy.

saw a few questions on the mlbtraderumors chat today that got me thinking a bit....

Jerry Dipoto
5:59 Kyle Lewis, Evan White, Justus Sheffield, and Jake Fraley for Jose Ramirez. Does this offer tempt Cleveland?
Mark P
6:00 Cleveland would get able to get a lot more from another team, or be in position to ask for more from Seattle.

Obviously i'd be ok with giving them up and throwing a Williamson or Deloach etc for him but then the next question came up...

Chris
6:03 Think the marlins trade a young starter for a catcher or centerfielder? Sixto for Kyle Lewis seems like a fun injury for injury trade
Mark P
6:05 I would just about bet the farm on a pitcher-for-hitter trade for Miami this winter (all I need now is a farm to wager). That trade would indeed be interesting, and I wonder if the Marlins might not stop at just one deal.

Something like Sixto-for-Lewis in a risky move, and then swap another young arm for perhaps more of a proven commodity of a bat

I actually really like this trade idea. We cant have enough good pitching and Lewis really is expendable for us. Would any of you rather do that one for one and get a high ceiling pitching prospect like Sixto or would u rather make Lewis part of a package for a bigger proven superstar?
Formerly balefire uk :D Now I'm optimistic!

I can't imagine any team giving up anything of value for Lewis. Seems like malpractice to me.

Can not believe they wasted time on writing a four part article on what sort of garbage we could get back in Fraley trades:

This is what they proposed:

1. A 34 yo OFer with 8 HRs and a .259 BA and a minor league catcher
2. A 34 yo journeyman lefty reliever that nobody's ever heard of
3. An OFer with that hit .203/.605 in 2021

WTF?

Fraley's only value in a trade is as a throw in with top prospects to get an impact bat or a TOR starter. Why bother trading him for 34 yo fringe guys or a guy that hits even worse than he does???

Schwarber just hit another bomb. We better be in on that guy. Absolute perfect fit.

You can tell how much the Red Sox value DH's because they keep two guys who should be DH's on the roster!

And, when they play NL teams, they've been putting both in the game.

Offense > Defense

And even if they didn't start the game in an NL park, being able to pick your spot late in the game for their 1 pinch hit at bat has added value in itself, imo.

But our guys are versatile. So... we don't even need runs.
