And sadly we won't bother to try to take advantage of it because most of the fan base adores Mariner legend JP Crawford and his career .698 OPS.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Sat Oct 16, 2021 9:05 pmI think these shortstops all hitting the market at the same time will work against them and drive their deals down. Plus, if the Dodgers aren't bidding because they have Trea Turner for next year, and if the Yankees aren't bidding because of the luxury tax, where does that leave them?

Jp isn’t our best foot forward....I’m hoping Jerry is right when he says our look next year will be much different

Good evening my Brother. How is life in the PNW? We went to the North End (Little Italy) today had ate Pizza and drank beer at a 95 yo Pizza place called Reginas. It is known as the best Pizza in Boston and was amazing. There are 87 Italian restaurants in the North and and we have now ate ate 5 of them. 82 to go.Coeurd’Alene J wrote: ↑Sat Oct 16, 2021 11:29 pmExactly...D-train wrote: ↑Sat Oct 16, 2021 9:08 pmAnd sadly we won't bother to try to take advantage of it because most of the fan base adores Mariner legend JP Crawford and his career .698 OPS.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Sat Oct 16, 2021 9:05 pmI think these shortstops all hitting the market at the same time will work against them and drive their deals down. Any of you fellers happen to know what the contact rate for batters at T mobile is compared to other parks?
Re: Offseason Plans
Are you thinking there might be issues with the batter's eye or such?Jack Merridew wrote: ↑Sun Oct 17, 2021 3:57 pmAny of you fellers happen to know what the contact rate for batters at T mobile is compared to other parks?

Our K rate was higher at home. 25.8% vs. on the road 23.9%.Jack Merridew wrote: ↑Sun Oct 17, 2021 6:30 pmLet me answer that question this way: yessireebobD-train wrote: ↑Sun Oct 17, 2021 4:20 pmAre you thinking there might be issues with the batter's eye or such?Jack Merridew wrote: ↑Sun Oct 17, 2021 3:57 pmAny of you fellers happen to know what the contact rate for batters at T mobile is compared to other parks?
This is huge imo: BABIP was .284 on the road and only .261 at home. So that doesn't include HRs so has nothing to do with the fences.

It's hard to tell from BABIP what is going on though. Could be the grass, could be difficulty making good contact, or a combination of the two. I'm wondering if there are stats from which you can determine the kind of contact as well as rate. For instance, do hitters tend to foul off more pitches and make weaker contact? Maybe the angle of the ball's trajectory off the bat along with exit velocity would tell the story.
