I can't get over rosterbating how great our lineup and pitching could be if they spend $100M and trade a handful of prospects.

C- Murphy/Torrens
1B- M. Olson ($10M arb) (.911 OPS)
2B- Semien ($22M) (.873)
3B- France
SS- Crawford
LF- Conforto (.800 OPS) ($10M)
CF- B. Reynolds ($600k) (.912 OPS)
RF- Haniger
DH- Schwarber ($15M) (.928 OPS)

SP1- take your pick ($22M)
SP2- take your pick ($22M)

Bench: Give Toro and Kelenic less expectations in 2022 and let their performance be a bonus, if it comes. Moore or Walton as 26th man with Lewis, Rodriguez and Paxton in AAA.

Haniger is a free agent after 2022 so Lewis, Kelenic and JRod can sort it out in 2023.

= $102 Million, and a World Series, no holes, no red carpets for unproven kids.

I'd package Torrens and trade for a better catcher.

Feel free to dream but this isn’t even close to off-season we will see in prospects traded or money spent, chop in half on both sides and maybe!!

After Kikuchi declined, the payroll sits at $45M for 2022.

You guys aren't raising your expectations enough. $45+$102= $147M would have put them 11th in MLB payroll in 2021.

They could do it if they wanted to but you are talking about and org that was unwilling to part with a couple middling prospects for Kris Bryant....an org that was not willing to sign Walker because he was too pricey and didn't come hat in hand.

Will be lucky to see $100M in 2022 imo.

Their max was 162mil in 2018 and mostly in 130mil or close prior. While I see them making a big jump, I see Dipoto leaving plenty of wiggle room for other additions later.

Yep it all comes down to that word again. "Significantly" I think a lot of fans define it as getting payroll right back up to 2018 levels but any business that increases payroll by 20-30% would consider it a significant increase. M's likely won't be any different.
