Suzuki to be posted
Re: Suzuki to be posted
The numbers are really good, even if you consider a probable drop-off in performance facing mlb pitchers.
Other factors:
1) he's one of the very top hitters in that league, and has sustained that performance over several seasons
2) the swing is mlb style already, and reports are that his batspeed is elite (you can see this in videos, fairly obvious)
3) defensively strong in RF, may be capable of playing center
4) may be able to play infield positions as well (2B, 3B, SS in a pinch)
5) speed is plus, maybe plus plus

Nice. With stats like that, I'm convinced. I'm serious. Let's sign him!
Wait, what? You say he wants to play with Ohtani who signed the with Angels so he could play with Mike Trout?
F*ckballs.

Just make sure the money and years are the best offer by far. This guy looks real!

Again, can he play any 1b? We don't need corner OF help

I like the guy, but I don't think he would be an automatic fit for the M's. It's like the transition from middle school to high school - Japanese players take at least a season to really figure out American baseball. I don't think he would slot in an bring the same production he had last season. Besides, after 30 games, pitchers figure out how to pitch to him and his OBP goes way down (thinking of Dae-Ho here). We need a guy who can rake right out of the gates, AND who can provide leadership to a mostly young group of kids in the outfield.

He does like Trout, he also likes to win. We have a shot I just don’t think Jerry is as interested as we are.Case_Of_The_Runs wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 9:21 pmNice. With stats like that, I'm convinced. I'm serious. Let's sign him!

Re: Suzuki to be posted
It is really hard to say for me really. If he is a good player I am interested. Especially if he could play 2nd or 3rd as well as OF. Adding him would allow Toro to go to 3rd where he looks like a + defender like +5 in about 40% of a season so GG level if we can believe the small sample. Toro ripped up AAA in a similar manner to what France did before we got him. He looks like a good enough bet that he should be able to perform here. It may not be my 1st choice but if the offense was adding Suzuki and Schwarber for 11, and 15. And then we went out and got Max and ED Rod. say 40 and 15? The pay out would be 121M and we would still have major prospect capitol and room with payroll.Coeurd’Alene J wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 4:54 amI’ve seen $7-9M per year I suggested 3/33 in another thread hopefully close to that
