sure, I have nothing against signing the guy, but he isn't saying he is going to be an Acuna for us, that is what he is predicting his production would be in MLB as i read it
I know when Japanese player moves to MLB, their stats will get lower than in Japan. So I thought he might hit around .250AVG/20HR/10SB, then those players’ stats I listed above are very close to my prediction of Suzuki’s stats in MLB.
.250/20/10? Get outta here with that shit!

interesting in terms of the CBA deal, either signs very quickly or there is going to be a long wait
There are still some concerns regarding the timing of Suzuki’s posting, as the MLB CBA’s expiration date is just around the corner, and failing to reach an agreement could lead to a transaction freeze, according to Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic.

“Suzuki must sign within 30 days of being posted or he returns to Hiroshima. But from what I understand, MLB and NPB were close to an agreement in which that clock would be stopped in the event of an industry lockout,” wore Baggarly.

I was just completing the quote Jay began with the Acuna comparison, I do not believe he meant he was going to come here and be another Acuna.

That is what Curtis has to say about it, no idea where he got the guy to quote in the first place
These are some very glowing comments from someone who has been in Japan and seen Seiya Suzuki up close and in person. Even if Suzuki were to hit .250 and have 20 home runs like Sawa suggests, it would still be a massive upgrade for the Mariners in 2022.

Acuna is 23yo and had a .990 OPS when he was injured so yeah safe bet he won't get 4 years younger and basically put the same OPS he did in Japan.

what that would be is a fan comment, he is trying to express how big Suzuki is in Japan, like Acuna, which I am sure he is, he goes on to say he isn't going to be as good in the MLs, then he pulls some numbers out of his ass... Curtis is fun to read

I would say that his guess is Suzuki's floor and yes it would be an upgrade over Fraley and Bauers but would still be disappointing. We need to upgrade from bad to good not bad to just ok.

Agreed brother. Go get Reynolds. JK, Hancock, Trammell and somebody other than JR, Kirby, Brash or Williamson.

So it should happen quickly given the uncertainty of the CBA negotiations and the 30-day limit. Lockout on the 2nd would preclude any team from making ANY signings including that of Suzuki
