So I have been to the Gym ever day this year and they typically only play 70s music which is great. But I was thinking today that is now 43-52 years ago!
I then thought what my reaction would have been in the 80s when I first started going to the gym if this is the only music they played.

Well, music from the 70's is generally 1000 times better than the shit people put out today. Same with movies.

Although you could probably get a good workout to Cab Calloway:
Hi-de hi-de hi-de-hi
Hey-hey de hey-de
He-he-de he-de he
Hi-de hi-de hi-de-hi

All the music from the late 60's and the 70's I love(d). Still do and have many of the albums. I just can't put Zep, Tull, The Who, Beatles, etc. on my turntable anymore because I've been listening to it all for at least 60 years.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 2:16 amWell, music from the 70's is generally 1000 times better than the shit people put out today. Now I'd rather listen to Muse, Ayreon, Frost*, Haken, Leprous, A.C.T (from Sweden), Lonely Robot, The Struts (think Queen, Rolling Stones, etc.), Nightwish.....

Beatles, of course, but Nat King Cole now. And yes, I'm a Musical Theater snob. There aren't too many Musicals today that compare. Phantom, The Greatest Showman, that's about it. And I'm actually starting to like Elvis. Never did as a kid. And I'll say I saw Heart in person more times than any one individual should have. There's more, but I'm not listing Jazz or Linda Ronstadt, or anything else. I'm rather eclectic when it comes to music. Mostly ballads when I do Karaoke.

Yeah I could really pump some Iron to Ethel Waters' Stormy Weather! btw 1930s Country is way underrated. The Ken Burns Documentary on Country Music is right up there with Civil WAR and Baseball as his best ever.
