Think I misread that, thought he wasn't seen as good a defender as schwarber
Your statement is still accurate. Suzuki is known as a good OFer. Here is Schwarber, Castellanos and Winker's D with Haniger for reference:

Haniger is better than all those defensively, except for Suzuki and maybe Winker. Haniger didn't play in 2020, but if you take the multiple years 2020-21, these are the results.

Yeah, was going to say its cumulative and he played more games so what I posted was a bit deceptive.

Wow, very similar. When you compare games played and the margin of error of defensive metrics I would put all four of those guys in the same average to slightly below average bucket.

The problem is that his last name is Winker. It's a weird fucking name and it just doesn't sound right. Therefore, I am against this trade.

Weird name or not, he's be a significant upgrade in the OF or a major trade chip later if we could get him.

Good point! Imagine if he had had played for the Cubs in 1910. Winker to Evers to Chance just doesn't have the same ring to it.

JD wouldn't trade for him then because JP is our SS

Luis Catillo 68M
Winker 19M
Joey Votto -40M

Man if they is how much GMs actually value Castillo its a HARD pass for me. Gilbert, Kirby, Brash and Williamson could ALL be better than him.

Probably more of a Kyle Schwarber than a Suzuki so dipoto won't be interested. Was gonna say, if Frazier got moved off 2nd base they could play him in left field.

Did you see this, in depth piece on Winker
https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/02/ ... inker.html
I hadn't. Thanks again.
Winker is generally regarded as a better defender than either Castellanos or Kyle Schwarber, and most pundits expect both those players to command weighty contracts in free agency. Winker has been a better defender and better hitter than both over the past two seasons. There are surely teams that would rather part with prospects to acquire two years of Winker than pay annual salaries near (or in excess of) $20MM for Schwarber and Castellanos.
I'd put Haniger in a group with Winker. Castellanos and Schwarber in a group of below average outfielders.
