Draft Party (live draft thread)
Re: Draft Party (live draft thread)
I love Lucas. Been watching him at WSU and the dude just has no quit. Right now, not messin' with picks and just taking our players in the order they fall is like watching angels sing.
Re: Draft Party (live draft thread)
lol can only imagine rw sitting there like WTF??? They address the line after I leave?? lol
Re: Draft Party (live draft thread)
Totally got a high second round pick in the third.

Need a center. Austin Blythe is a hedge. Zach Tom can play all over the line. Would love to keep it going!SeattleAddict wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 1:57 amwhy the hell would we need Zach Tom now, though?Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 1:56 amNow Zach Tom or Channing Tindall!!!!!Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 1:54 amRob Stanton LOVES Lucas. Thought he was a fringe first rounder.
Welp, they've got their LT and RT of the future.
Or I'm cool with Tindall or Leo Chenall. Travis Jones. I don't expect any of them to be there when we pick next.
Re: Draft Party (live draft thread)
In a way, this is a finger to RW. Despite his "Go Hawks" smarmy stuff and his undeniable skills, which many of us think are declining, we weren't going anywhere with him next year. Maybe if he'd taken a hometown discount occasionally, let us retool around him, instead of it being all about him, he'd have gotten his offensive line a few years ago and had an extra ring or two.
I love this shit. I also like that the Hawks are not reaching and fucking around this year with trading picks.

They also traded for Brown and Jackson, drafted Lewis, and picked up Shell. All played decent-to-well. There is more to it than just talent evaluation - we had an O-line coach that thought he was better than he was, and always seem to have a gaping hole SOMEWHERE. Last couple seasons was center. Was tackle before that. If these picks work out, this will be the best line in a long time.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 2:01 amThey addressed the OL when he was there.
They just did a poor job of it.
Ifedi, Pocic, Odhiambo, Pool, Britt... all not that good.

Re: Draft Party (live draft thread)
didn't know Tom played center. I'm down with taking all linemen actually - can't have too many. I have confidence in Blythe, but yeah, he's on a one-year deal and we need a long-term solution.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 2:03 am

You are 100% right about that. It was two-way street. Hawks always tried to cobble together an offensive line, figuring RWs skills could overcome anything. Everybody is learning, and Russell can blow me in Denver lol.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 2:01 amThey addressed the OL when he was there.

From the War Room lol:
Steve Hutchinson, who now scouts O linemen for the Hawks, is in the Draft Room wearing a "Run The Damn Ball" hat.
