What a lopsided trade.

And Mel Kiper has always struck me as clueless.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this team sneak into the playoffs at 9-8. Maybe even shock the world and win a playoff game like they did in 2010 when they finished. 8-10
hehe I wouldn't be surprised if they are deciding to tank this year to get another top ten draft pick next year to choose one of those QB's coming out of next years class instead of this one. They obviously thought this years class sucked and wanted nothing to do with any of them. Carroll is saying Smith is ahead of Lock right now in terms of the QB competition, lol. Neither is a good QB. Its going to be a long year and I think they quietly want it that way.

Now all we need is for rw to blow out a knee in his first game and we can have 2 picks in the top 10, lol.
Link?

How are they going to tank, not play the starters? Not sure how you can listen to PC for well over a decade and think he is going to throw the season.

Lock is good enough to lead this team to a .500 record.

Let’s wait and see a bit. Cross has to prove his he can block at the next level and Mafe a project. Remember we still have no real QB. So, this isn’t lopsided yet by any stretch. If one of Cross and Mafe have to be pro bowl for this to be lopsided. If not we have a bunch of players for a pro bowl qb. This is a classic wait and see. But, to me a Bunch of players for a pro Bowler qb isn’t a win. It’s a win if a couple hit it big. Sorry way to early. Especially with a major project in Mafe. And we have to turn the 1 and 2 next year into a qb then is a huge win. Right now borderline crazy to say it’s lopsided. Bunch of maybes and role players isn’t lopsided.

No way no how do I want to see Geno play again. Play Lock. Enough is enough on the crap with Geno. Geno is not a good QB. Heys proved that. The Giants proved that And we have proved that.

Roll with Lock.

This is where he said it.

Its just going to be a growing year. We got no QB, our new OL are going to go through some pains as they learn the ins/outs, its time to play all the kids and let them see what they can do. If they really wanted to get into the playoffs and wanted to try to go deep at all then they would have made some minor trade for Mayfield. He's not great but he gives us the best chance of Lock/Smith to do that.

Cross is almost a lock to be and above average LT, Mafe is NOT a project, Fant and Harris are established known commodity above average NFL players. I think Lock at age 27 will be very close to as good as a 35 yo RW who will have minimal mobility and that doesn't even include the 1st and 2nd round picks next season. RW wanted out so they had to trade him. It will be a win, the only question is how big of one.

Thanks, don't think I was doubting you its just that I read everything an somehow missed it.

Based on this it would be impossible for Lock to be ahead at this point. I would be shocked if they go with and older guy with no upside over Lock. He is ahead because of experience not talent and that will change once Lock gets up to speed.
“The competition is underway,” Carroll told reporters, via ProFootballTalk. “Geno has come in and is obviously ahead going in because he’s had all the background with us.

Yeah I'd be shocked if Lock wasn't the starter also but I suppose he could come in and just lay an egg and give them no choice.

Likely we'll see extended playing time for both. I expect an injury or two.
