Such and amazing achievement the US and other 1st world countries have "progressed" so far beyond these simple unenlightened 3rd world people. I do feel sorry for them not understanding basic biology. Hopefully we can send missionaries to teach them about transgenderism so they can appreciate our higher truth.

What's interesting to me is if you look at visions of the future, like the world fair in 1962, it's all about technological wonders, flying cars or whatever. But the family unit is like etched in stone, the Jetsons. It's the sociological stuff they totally missed, and what has really changed, made the future, the future

Very true. Also fascinating to me is the Air Travel peaked with the Concord 50 years ago and we still travel at the same speeds we did in the 1960s. Contrast that with communications going from corded phones and CB radios to Smart phones and the internet and Face time/Zoom. (face time/Zoom is actually one they got right)

Btw PSA: Normally Politics topics should be on the Politics forum but I allowed this one for three reasons:

1. It is concerning MLB
2. For those not interested they can simply ignore the thread like I do when to people are arguing about something ad nauseum.
3. Unlike the Seattle Times forum and the early history of this forum I think this forum is in a place where people can have thoughtful discussions without personal attacks or negativity. This one has gotten a bit terse but nothing that warrants action.....

If that changes I will act accordingly. Hopefully this thread does trigger anyone so much as they would consider leaving the forum as a value everyone's participation here.
And 4. this is not a thread about politics. It might have started out as that, but I pointed out that the original post in this thread involved a link to an article from a website that notoriously promotes disinformation and conspiracy theories, and that the link in that article took you to another article from a website with questionable bias and objectivity...and that the claims being made that were the basis of the entire thread were factually false.

D-Train, yours was the closest we got to a retraction and/or admission that you were misled by the post and overreacted. The topic has now shifted to whether we should be discussing gender dysphoria, or LGBT+ issues (or whatever the allusion was to basic biology and higher truths) which is a rather artful way of changing the subject and moving the goalposts.

Finally, I am not arguing so much as I am pointing out the factual realities of the claims made in the original article. Pretty much all argumentation should have stopped once it was clear that original responses to the article were based on this misunderstanding.

Three things to remember:

1. Literally everything these days is somehow political.
2. Any thing goes on a thread as long as people are respectful and civilized. Going off on Tangents is fine. (I have seen threads start out talking about Ichiro and end up talking about Space travel) lol
3. I am the moderator.

:)

Again I appreciate you contributions on this and all threads and very happy you are a forum member!

I understand, respect and appreciate all of these points. I really do.

I did contact the board administrator a couple of days ago and ask to have my account deleted since there does not appear to be an option to do this in the settings. Perhaps you can relay this request. Thanks!
