Getting back to Harry Ford and his huge game on Sunday, if this is some sort of turning point for him and his bat really starts coming around, I wouldn't be surprised to see them move him off catcher. I kind of feel like that would be shortsighted, but this is how MLB teams think about these things. If a guy has a talented bat, you don't want the learning curve of catcher development slowing the player up.

Harry Ford with a big time game on Sunday, hopefully he's feeling right and gets going here as he nears the 2nd half of minor league season.

GL, I don't think the Mariners have any intention of moving him off catcher. They were very adamant not just upon drafting him, but entering this minor league season when they placed him that he's a catcher, period.

Now, that can all change if Dipoto gets shit canned and a new regime comes through. It could also change as Ford moves up the system if Cal Raleigh becomes the best catcher the Mariners have had since Dan Wilson. He's got a long long way to go, but recent signs are all promising.

Modesto taking LE out to the woodshed in a 17-3 game. Some pretty good hitting performances:
Perez Jr 3-for-3 2b 3b 4r 5rbi
Arroyo 3-for-5 3b bb rbi 4r
Ford 1-for-5 bb 2r
Clase 2-for-6 run

Also, Gabriel Gonzalez in rookie league ACL is continuing to kill it. I don't know where to find the stats though

Yeah, Gonzalez is definitely one to watch in the ACL. Supposed to have major major bat speed. We'll see if he can use it.

Rizzo has been on fire lately. Hit his 12th HR and has his OPS up to .800.

Over his last 16 games .355/.406/1.196 with 8 HR.

He was a forgotten prospect for a while. He's slowly starting to develop some pop to his bat.

Just in time! I think this would have been his last season if he finished it like he started it.

btw Sorry for being so negative at times. Will try to be more positive.
