Think you can be a little too results oriented, he is there to learn how to pitch, not sure era is that relevant. Think it be more about scouting his stuff. I could see where there could be pitchers with better eras that are not considered as as good prospects

.There’s a lot to like about Morales, and his stuff is just part of the equation. He offers a fastball that sits in the low 90s with a good curveball, an emerging slider and changeup that give him a more diverse mix of pitches than he had at East Pennsboro.
