We won the trade financially, lol, but the best player in the trade is Sugar.
And the owners pocketed the money promising to spend and then screamed Covid! to not actually spend any of it.
I remember we made such a big deal about the money we "saved" and this epitomizes why fans shouldn't care about payroll and shouldn't throw all their faith into prospects.

As for Diaz, he's been up and down for the Mets like most relief pitchers are. This year he's been up, almost as good as he was in his last season here.

Guess we can say now the Mets won that trade.

So dissapointing to see JK struggle like this.
Hyped to the hilt as the next coming of Mike Trout.
But the kid is mental.
He looks like he has all the physical tools.
He can obviously hit a home vs. MLB pitching.
Just can't hit a baseball on a daily basis to save his career.
Shame.

With that said he'll probably get traded as a "DIY Project" for garbage and become a decent ballplayer somewhere else.
or...the world needs barbers and bartenders too.

Diaz has been lights out this year... the last year of his deal and only year they will have made the playoffs with him pitching.

He had a 5.59 ERA in his first season with them and Mets fans almost ran him out of town. Overall, 3.39.

The M's weren't a closer away from making the playoffs and they got rid of Cano's contract. I'd call it a wash and a win for the M's if Kelenic ever pulls his head out of his ass.

All we got out of the trade is Dunn who turned into 1/3 of Winker Suarez and bottle of baby power that we will get in the JK trade.

Wow, in 28 minor league innings this season Dunn has a 6.75 ERA and 1.821 WHIP, and in 94 minor league innings Brandon Williamson has a 4.13 ERA and 1.580 WHIP with his strikeout rates having dropped like a meteor.

It's a win for the Mariners ownership because they saved millions.

It's a loss for the fan because they didn't reinvest the money into the roster.
