Re: Brock and Salk
The thing that bugs me is how many of these sports radio guys seem to have self-important or self-righteous personality types. Get over yourselves, you dorks. You're talking sports for a living for Christ's sake.

From the category, of "If you don't have anything good to say,..." i will not talk about Moore. Wyman is far too vanilla for my taste, often oversimplifying and looking backward, not forward. Oddly he seems to actually have a distaste for any in-depth analysis. i was much more a fan of him as a player - really excited when we drafted him 2nd round. Havent heard Stelton enough to render opinion, but he at least has a good radio voice and doesnt sound childish or hung over (oh wait, i wasnt going to talk about Moore).Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2019 4:22 amNot to mention he says "yuh know" at least once in every sentence he utters.
How about Wyman and Moore? I think they are decent together, although Stelton might destroy the chemistry unless they can slip him a valium before they go on the air.

The only one I got that vibe from was Groz. I really didn't like listening to him bloviate.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2019 4:27 amThe thing that bugs me is how many of these sports radio guys seem to have self-important or self-righteous personality types. I'd say most of them take themselves way too seriously. Stelton and Salk come to mind. You get the feeling that some of them think talking sports is on a par with being a surgeon or research scientist. Your job is talking about dummies playing with balls to entertain the (mindless) masses, not curing cancer. Get over yourselves. Actually, this applies more to the national hosts on ESPN and FOXSports.

Wyman is a good conversationalist and has lots of interesting and funny anecdotes from his playing days. And mainly he's down to earth and can laugh at himself. To a lesser degree that is also true of Jim Moore, although he occasionally gets his panties in a bunch. If you want super in-depth explanations and break-downs then i guess Millen is your guy. Myself, i prefer someone with a sense of humor and some perspective on the seriousness of talking about sports.
Re: Brock and Salk
Millen is garbage.. He tries to use terminology amd shit. Just obnoxious. Wyman does a way better job with his breakdowns.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2019 5:26 pmWyman is a good conversationalist and has lots of interesting and funny anecdotes from his playing days.
