Exactly, they all have questions marks including Haniger.

Yep.

And Haniger might very well go off for another team next year.

But I'm gonna put my money on someone who actually put together a fantastic year in 2022 over a guy with a busted nut, who misses 4 months with a sprained ankle and another guy who didn't even play baseball.

Pederson seems like a better option than most of the guys out there

I think so.

But again, I'm not looking at a WAR total for a guy that I anticipate to DH. Bringing up WAR for a guy with a killer bat who can't play defense is a moot point. We know his defense sucks... knew the same about Nelli. Didn't ask him to play defense when he proved he couldn't.

Well the difference is that I'm asking Joc Pederson to not play defense... bringing him as a DH. 2020 was also a 60-game stretch, 2 years ago, off the back of a pandemic. In 2018 and 2019 Pederson went off with the bat.

And to the point about coming to SafeCo to die...

Pederson just hung a .909 OPS at what is considered the worst hitters park in baseball:

https://www.baseball-reference.com/play ... r=2022&t=b

https://www.espn.com/fantasy/baseball/s ... tchers-mlb
Will Joc Pederson post his 144 OPS+ of 2022, his 95 OPS+ of 2021, his 83 OPS+ of 2020 or his career OPS+ of 116?
Idk. Will Conforto post his OPS+ of 0 in 2022? Does he have a functional shoulder?

Clearly teams felt that he didn't.

I'll take the guy that just hung a 144 OPS+ playing half his games in one of the worst hitter's parks.
OPS+ is park-adjusted:

Ya, I know.

Simply pointing out that he just put up a great season in one of the worst parks in baseball... so him coming to SafeCo shouldn't be a real worry.

Was a response to BPJ's inquiry of players coming to Seattle to die.

According the Baseball Reference's Park Factors, this year San Francisco's Oracle Park was nearly hitter-neutral (99) in contrast with T-Mobile Park's pitcher-friendly 95:

Harmony, this is a sports forum. Not a place where you need to provide a reference for your every thought.

The article I posted provided stats from the years 2013, 2014, 2015... and they called it the worst. There's many other people/websites/whatever who have done the same.

Here's a question I would like you to answer as a human. You don't need to provide me 14 links to Fangraphs... just simply answer it:

Was Pederson's 2022 impressive, especially when you consider that SF is generally not a hitter's park? Yes, or No.

We don't need power guys we need can get the F on base & Arraez does that. I'm not looking for power at all. You have Julio & Ty & Cal there's your power.

Aaron Judge led the majors in OBP. He was 2nd in the AL in batting average. His 1.111 OPS was 1st.

Joc Pederson's .353 OBP places him 30th in baseball. His .274 batting average was a tie for 34th. His .874 OPS is 11th.

Prior to injuring his groin, Tim Anderson was hitting .356/.393/.896.

Every player I have suggested hits for high avg, gets on base, and hits for power, except for Arraez.

You never say no to more power.
