Yankee podcasters discuss a proposed trade of Gleyber Torres to the Mariners for reliever Matt Festa, outfielder Jonatan Clase and righthander Prelander Berroa:

https://empiresportsmedia.com/new-york- ... -mariners/
Proposed trades from Yankee forums:

Gleyber Torres for George Kirby and "a lefty hitting prospect like Jonathan Clase or Starlin Águilar. Probably too much to ask for Lazaro Montas instead."

https://www.pinstripealley.com/2022/11/ ... s-reaction

Baseball Trade Values assigns Kirby 20 times the trade value of Torres.

Gleyber Torres, lefty reliever Lucas Luetge, righthander Deivi Garcia, catcher Antonio Gomez, outfielder Aaron Hicks and $11 million for Cal Raleigh and Jarred Kelenic.

https://nyyfansforum.sny.tv/forum/forum ... son-thread

Baseball Trade Values assigns the Seattle package 10 times the value of the Yankee package.

We're all homers.
This is precisely the purpose of that website. If they just checked it they would not post completely absurd trade proposals....

You don't need a trade values website to know how ridiculous trades like those last two are. Any one with any ability for critical thinking could come to that conclusion on their own.

I agree but they obviously lack that critical thinking so they need some sort of crutch

I just saw a fan comment on MLBTraderumors thinking Seattle would give Kirby for Torres and Hicks

Whereas I understand JD's thinking on being patience I also like the idea of sweeping in while the "Big Guns" are kind of frozen waiting on the Judge and Turner chips to fall. Once that happens it's going to be a free for all . . . no pun intended.

Hunter is off the table

That kinda sucks. I wonder if the M's were in on that at all? My guess is they want a lefty bat if they get another outfielder, so probably not.
The arms race is heating up. With the Angels making this move, I feel you can look at this one of two ways. Crap, the Angels are going to be tough this season. How can Jerry not pull the trigger on acquiring one of the Big 4 SS. The others identified of that coin is, maybe just maybe this light's a fire under ownership to go out and add more fire power. A lot of teams saw how close they came to making the playoffs last year. I see the Angels trading for Renfroe as a good sign for the M's. It's time to go out get another Big gun!
That is a good way of phrasing or thinking about it. We are not trying to be just better than last year but better than everybody else. I mean I LAA added Willson C at catcher and then a Bell or a ABreu at 1B and swung a Degrom deal to head the staff that is a potential winner.

If the M's added Senga and traded away Marco-Winker-Flexen, and added Chaffin, Turner, and Abreu that would be legit. And of course any of those front line starters in place of Senga would be fine: Verlander, Degrom, Rodon, etc.

This out 4 hours ago...
https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/seattle-mariners

"Mariners open to adding another outfielder"

What I get from the article is that at least they are willing to trade Winker, Kelenic, or Trammell for a lower-upside but more stable veteran bat.
What does that make Winker, Kelenic and Trammell? Lower than lower-upside and unstable. :D

Besides the possibility of resigning Mitch Hanniger....
Other free agent possibilities include Andrew Benintendi, Jurickson Profar, Cody Bellinger and Washington native Michael Conforto, who’s looking to reestablish himself as a middle-of-the-order caliber hitter after a season lost to shoulder surgery.

Benintendi nice power!
I like Profar too. He would keep the line moving.

The MLB Network committed an error with this proposed trade of Jesse Winker for Gleyber Torres and Deivi Garcia:
