Last time Nationals franchise won a playoff series, I was a 13-year-old watching it on TV in Montreal as Expos and Steve Rodgers closed out Phillies 3-0 on road in Game 5 of Division Series. But like Sonics fans and OKC Thunder, I feel absolutely no connection now. #Nats #Expos

Re: MLB Playoffs contest
Hopefully this is the kiss of DEATH......
The Astros are sending Gerrit Cole, who hasn’t lost a game in nearly five months, to the mound

Man, can Kendrick Hit or What?
14 years, .294 lifetime.
Great great consistency.

Re: MLB Playoffs contest
Are the Dodgers the best team over a 3 year stretch not to win a World Series?
This, again, is why playoffs in baseball mean so little. The regular season determines the best teams. The Astros should be playing the Dodgers if their must be some little tournament at the end of a 162 game season.

I don't consider about who are the best teams over the regular season, its about who can win a WS

Re: MLB Playoffs contest
The worst team in MLB could easily defeat the best team in a 5 game series. That's certainly not the case with a single NFL game or an NBA best of 5. MLB playoffs are just a gauge of which team is luckiest and hottest at the moment. Nobody thinks the Nationals are better than the Dodgers.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 2:23 pmI don't consider about who are the best teams over the regular season, its about who can win a WS
If there must be a tournament at the end of the season, i would like to see the two best teams in MLB or at least the best team in each league.
Re: MLB Playoffs contest
lol I am sure if you write a letter to the MLB offices they will take you plan under advisement. If we know the team with the most reg. season wins would win the series it would be rather boring imo. That rally by the Nats was joyous and another thing I love about sports. When you go to a movie or a concert you pretty much know how it will end. Never the case with Sports.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 2:37 pmThe worst team in MLB could easily defeat the best team in a 5 game series. Old school for sure. Back in the day, the best team in each league won the pennant, no playoffs, and those two played in the WS. It was usually the Yankees and the Brooklyn Dodgers. The other teams were like extras in a movie.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 2:37 pmThe worst team in MLB could easily defeat the best team in a 5 game series. Not sure if that was a better situation.Happy as hell wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 3:02 pmOld school for sure. Sure, but it's only exciting because of the high-stakes atmosphere generated by media hype, which in turn is driven by marketing for the purpose of generating revenue primarily for team owners and media execs. In other words, it's a largely phony event.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 2:55 pmlol I am sure if you write a letter to the MLB offices they will take you plan under advisement. The real problem i have, though, is in the historical importance that is attached to winning a "World" series (now there's a phony name) versus putting together a great 162 game season, or succession of them. It results in idiocy such as people regarding the Mariners' 2001 season as some kind of failure.
