Re: MLB Playoffs contest
Man, even if we contend by 2021, does anyone really think we can compete with the Astros? Their young nucleus and great farm system is going to keep them competitive for at least 6-8 more years

Its always darkest before dawn. It was totally black in May.Hasslecracked wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 11:30 pmMan, even if we contend by 2021, does anyone really think we can compete with the Astros? Compete with the Astros, or the A’s, or Rays.Hasslecracked wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 11:30 pmMan, even if we contend by 2021, does anyone really think we can compete with the Astros? Their young nucleus and great farm system is going to keep them competitive for at least 6-8 more years
Re: MLB Playoffs contest
I know sometimes it seems very easy to predict exactly what will happen in three years but I guess I need to remind you that three years ago the Royals and Broncos were reigning Champions, Obama was in the White house and Hillary was a lock to replace him in just a few months.

In the 3rd inning, Gerrit Cole didn't record a strikeout.
Why is that significant?
Cole had recorded at least 1 strikeout in 73 consecutive innings (reg. and postseason) dating back to Aug. 1.
It was the longest such streak in the Expansion Era (since 1961)....by 33 innings.

Add in their future prospects Tucker (22) and Whitley (22), who were both regarded near top 10 in baseball. Even in 2 years we won't be close to them unfortunately

Re: MLB Playoffs contest
Clearly their future looks bright but so did the Dodgers until about 22 hours ago and now they are sitting home and the WC Nats are moving on. In fact the Astros season could still end tonight after all.Hasslecracked wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 12:42 amAltuve 29D-train wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 12:32 amI know sometimes it seems very easy to predict exactly what will happen in three years but I guess I need to remind you that three years ago the Royals and Broncos were reigning Champions, Obama was in the White house and Hillary was a lock to replace him in just a few months.
