Yikes we dropped from 12th to 19th with our second pick but will swap with GB once that goes final.

Okay let's say the Texans and Bears take Carter and Anderson. Who do you want us to take then? Let's also assume we have re-signed Geno on a 5 year.
Very hard to believe the Texans pass on a QB at 1 with such a big need there. unless they get a major trade haul from another QB desperate team, since they have so many other needs and are not 1 player away. So assuming we get the 3 pick, should get at least one of Anderson, Carter, or QB2. or another major trade haul.

Jalen Carter looked gassed at the end of last night's game and his coach got on his ass for heckling Ohio St. fans in the stands before the game was over. Literally did not see anything resembling what I would call worthy of the 3rd overall pick. Too many red flags on him overall with his character concerns. I've heard that he hasn't taken his conditioning seriously and it showed last night. Like how great do you want to be? CJ Stroud however opened my eyes! WOW!! I've been down on him all season. Some of the prettiest thrown balls I've seen all season.
Yeah despite Brock's take Stroud looks a little safer than Bryce Young to me given his size, and i like his cool demeanor. the question was his elusiveness and how good of a playmaker he was under duress, because he so rarely faced that situation. Last night's performance against an all-world defense and heavy rush, while not having his full complement of receivers really had to elevate his stock imo.

Yes, that win cost the Hawks a huge but of draft position. They are now one of 7 8-8 teams and are currently playoff bound.

If they had lost they would be somewhere from 10-13th.

Entering the final game if the the 3 6-10 win and we lose again we could have wound up as high as #7 with out own pick.

But losing out do we follow through with needing a franchise QB as a big need or do we go Niner blueprint and just build a juggernaut?

I say build a juggernaut.

It is funny Pittsburgh just won to join us at 8-8 and if we lose next week we could pick as high as # 10, or as low as 32. or is that as low as 10 and as high as #32.

I would love a juggernaut if there were anyone worthy. And there's not compared the elite level of the 4 QB's in this draft. If there were a Bosa, Hutchinson, or Donald in this draft, then hell yeah. It sucks that there isn't. But you can walk out of it with a Top elite arm, which happens to be the MOST valuable position on the field. Get you're signal caller and then take the BPA regardless of Offense or Defense the rest of the way.

QBs ain't going no where. No shame in waiting. There's never gonna be a perfect prospect. That being said say you draft one with your 1st 1, is he starting day one, what if Geno comes back, you just gonna throw the kid into the fray. Not like he'll be walking into a great situation here. Where's the great offensive genius here. To me it's a no brainer unless someone absolutely blows you away with an offer then hang on & select best available. Remember this isn't a high volume offense. This team should be ground & pound. You've got your RB in Walker, doesn't matter who's behind center. Does that mean I wanna shell out 30 million for Geno, hell no. We just need our guy to be above average, don't turn the ball over & control the clock. Were not looking for the next Mahomes here. Last time we had 2 #1s it seemed to work out pretty well for us didn't it.

QB is the single most important position in football. If there aren't position players ranked as highly, then you go out and fill you're most important position. Geno isn't getting any younger and might not even be starting next season Day 1 if his DUI results comeback negative. And why wouldn't we want the next Mahomes?! I sure as hell would. That would transform this organization into an instant playoff contender every year. This delusion that QB's are not that important is mind boggling. I've no doubt a lot will change come draft day after the combine, senior bowls and Pro Day's. If Seattle is picking 3rd it's time to grab their franchise QB.

There are likely no "franchise" QB's in this draft, but there could be FOUR in next year's draft. I'd still try to talk Houston into swapping next year's First Round pick for our second first round pick this year, giving them two top 20 picks. Maybe sweeten the pot by adding another pick in this year's draft but keeping our two second round picks. Houston is so bad that gaining picks this year could help them in the long run.

That's what I'm saying. Swap 1's.

And what if those picks lead them to the playoffs next season and that pick ends up in the 20s in 2024?
