Very astute and I concur completely with you deductive reasoning. The only inconsistency with this is Jerry talking about moving JP or asking the FA SSs to move but it is clear now that was his annual smoke blowing up the fanbase's ass routine.Cascade Kid wrote: ↑Tue Jan 03, 2023 5:38 amBy saying 'baggage' I assume you mean his overall character? If that's the case, then my personal feelings on his character would say to steer clear of him.
Nonetheless, as DT said, there's likely no room financially for him. IMO I will speculate that JD was authorized to increase the salary budget 50% from last year or could have a fatter budget cap of around $150M. With $135M spent there's likely $5M to $15M in reserve for any additional in-season transactions. And any transaction before the season starts will likely require a trade and require moving Flexen or Marco to free up financial space. ...This is my speculative deductive reasoning I've concluded to though.
MLB didn't reduce his suspension, an arbitrator did. And that wasn't a function of the facts of case. He gave him credit for that original suspension, the one where he was still getting paidbpj wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 8:53 amWe had a fun little discussion or two about Bauer.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 3:42 amSo, the deal is there has been some video released of the "victim" of Bauer's beating released showing her waking up in the morning after she was allegedly beaten with her mark free smiling and doing the bragging of being next to a sleeping Bauer.
He is not charged. Suspension lifted. But I think the Feminists of the world will circle the wagons and still insist that he was guilty.
The Dodgers are rumored to be against bringing him back.
It will most likely be an irrational shit show to whoever signs Bauer if he is signed at all.
But, He is an absolute beast

2019 Cleveland 124 ERA+
2019 Loser ass Reds 73 ERA+

2021 LAD 163 ERA+
Bauers is one of a handful of players that could be a CY. If the M's add him, you could make the argument the M's have the premier rotation in baseball.
It was a clear gold digging case from the start imo.
The video of her perfectly fine the next morning, the texts showing what she asked for, and there were also texts released between the accuser and a friend that said something to the effect that she was a Padres fan screwing over a Dodger and a text talking about getting money from Bauer.
The fact that MLB changed their tune and cut his ban in half reinstating him immediately says it all imo.
The Mariners are big fat social justice warriors as an org though, so as much as Bauer would probably help the team, they won't want anything to do with him.

They are suing each other, whether she is a gold digger or not should be settled
Sure, with the understanding that he wasn't charged with anything. So as long as people assume his innocence instead of his guilt, as our system is built on, there's no problem.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Jan 03, 2023 5:09 pmSee how the lawsuits play out, that she has found lawyers to file her suit, there must be something there. How about we let it get decided in court
They most likely won't, too concerned about their image, not to mention the soy bloggers are already outraged at just the thought of signing Bauers, and they would cause a problem for Jerry and ownership.
