If the agent really did say he's not talking to anyone outside the top 10 that's even stupider than his client's decisions/behavior.
His agent is Drew Rosenhaus, I doubt there's anybody in the world that knows the negotiating-for-athletes game than him. He knows what he's doing... every if we don't.

My thinking is the Eagles told him they would definitely take him at 10 if he was there. Maybe another team, too. I am convinced the Eagles want him badly - I've heard it from several Philly people, and there are a few of his ex Georgia teammates on the team that probably vouch for him.

So I listened to like a 20 minute podcast by Corbin Smith and some other dude about options of teams to trade down with. I was interested who WE would pick in the 7-12 range if we did that. All they talked about is why other teams would want to go 5th and had 3 trade ideas from listeners and three of their own but no mention of who we would take in the 7-14 range. Who else other than Wilson are you guys thinking???

Yeah I'd be a lot more concerned with his Pro Day debacle than the car racing incident
I am. That was for me was all the clarification I needed to my previous arguments. The fact that people are still sticking up for the guy even after his Pro Day just boggles my mind.

the PFN draft sim still has him at overall #4 - ha!

but back to the poll - still only one vote for Stroud if he was available, really ???

this is an excellent question. To me, there are 4 guys above everybody else - Young, Stroud, Anderson, Carter... and Carter has eaten his way off that list probably. If those top 3 are gone, everybody else is a large step down, and #5-15 are all roughly the same talent-wise, with very few in positions of need. So, my opinion is if Anderson is off the board, and Carter has, in fact, worked himself off the Seahawks' board (I kinda don't think he has... but who knows), then it makes sense to trade back to around 12-15 and take Bresee. Bresee has had injury issues screw up his career, but he was the top recruit in the country a few years ago, and has shown flashes of why. High ceiling, pretty high floor... he might just be OK, or might be great. Shouldn't suck. Fills a position of great need. At 12-15, that's pretty good. Or, possibly pick Devon Witherspoon or Christian Gonzalez and shore up the other CB spot.

I just realized that Nwosu's contract ends after this year, so while I've been quick to dismiss the Wilson/Murphy projections, that could be a move for the future, too. Still not what I would do, but if PC/JS go this route, it tells a lot about the plan for the future.

Because there's only a 0.04% chance he'd be available, and I'm almost positive the original post was not "pretend everybody is available". The rules of the game changed after everybody voted. Obviously if Stroud is available at 5 you take him.

Thanks man. Much appreciated. I am doing research to avoid have to pay out $500k which is almost 10% of my retirement funds. :)

I don't think anyone realistically expects Stroud to be there. I've said this before, I'd be ok with any one of the four QB's on the board with my preference being Stroud or Richardson. If I had to choose, I'd probably go with Stroud, but since we're picking at number 5, I'd go with whoever is left. If all 4 QB's are gone that's easy, Will Anderson is the pick. If Stroud falls to 3, then I think Seattle should move up and get him.

Word on the street is Carolina is going Bryce Young. If the Texans surprise everyone and go DE Will Anderson, which they very well could, then I could see Seattle trading up to get Stroud. The Texans could then move up from 12 to 5 with Arizona and get a QB AND a DE(W. Anderson) and the Cardinals walk away with a boat load of picks. So I I'd give it a higher percentage than 0.3

what street is that word coming from? Their coach was caught whispering to Stroud what to do when he moved to Carolina. It wasn't some bullshit PR leak, it was a conversation that was supposed to be private that got caught on camera. If your scenario turns out right, though, it would probably cost #37, and maybe more. That's a hefty price to move up 2 spots, I just don't see it happening, ESPECIALLY with a division rival.

plus, that seems to also break the rules of the original question - if we can trade up, then yes, there's a much better chance he's available
