Because there's only a 0.04% chance he'd be available, and I'm almost positive the original post was not "pretend everybody is available". The rules of the game changed after everybody voted. Obviously if Stroud is available at 5 you take him.
Word on the street is Carolina is going Bryce Young. If the Texans surprise everyone and go DE Will Anderson, which they very well could, then I could see Seattle trading up to get Stroud. The Texans could then move up from 12 to 5 with Arizona and get a QB AND a DE(W. Anderson) and the Cardinals walk away with a boat load of picks. So I I'd give it a higher percentage than 0.3
what street is that word coming from? Their coach was caught whispering to Stroud what to do when he moved to Carolina. It wasn't some bullshit PR leak, it was a conversation that was supposed to be private that got caught on camera. If your scenario turns out right, though, it would probably cost #37, and maybe more. That's a hefty price to move up 2 spots, I just don't see it happening, ESPECIALLY with a division rival.

plus, that seems to also break the rules of the original question - if we can trade up, then yes, there's a much better chance he's available
Word on the street, Are you living under a rock?!!! Go watch any social media or mainstream outlet on GOOGLE right now. Bryce Young to Carolina. WOW!!

Do you're research. This news has certainly been more circulated than when I said that there was a possibility of Seattle moving up to 3. And two days later ESPN started reporting it. Literally everyone is saying Young to Carolina.

If I come at you with Information it's not because I'm pulling it out of my ass, it's because I'm listening to what the inner circles are saying. You can tell who's full of shit, and then those who are only looking for click bait.

Chris Mortensen, the same guy that predicted Russell Wilson to the Seahawks, IN THE THIRD ROUND!!!!! Chris doesn't just throw out random bullshit. He's proven himself time and time again. He wouldn't report it unless it was credible Information.

I'll tell you what, you can put Stroud #1 in you're mock draft and I'll go with Young #1 on mine.

but back to the poll - still only one vote for Stroud if he was available, really ???

I saw a Lance Zuerlein draft on youtube that had Young first and Houston picking Tyree at 2 !!! Granted his cohorts DJ and Bucky were laughing at him, but wouldnt that be something - leaves you guaranteed to get one of Anderson, Richardson or Stroud just by standing pat.

I saw that same mock draft. Yeah, Zeuerlein is very high on Wilson. In fact it was his mock draft that lead me to thinking that Stroud could drop to 3 in the first place. Arizona is hurting financially and it doesn't look like they'll get a ton for DeAndre Hopkins, maybe a Day 3 pick. I can easily see them loading up on draft picks. If they were to select Will Anderson, then Seattle could get its QB of the future regardless if they trade with them or not. If they trade down, they could potentially get Anderson AND an extra pick(s).

that's exactly what I'll do - I am actually looking forward to see how this plays out, since we have very different opinions on how it'll shake out.

Also, I didn't mean to imply you pulled it out of your ass. I'm just saying that overhearing a supposed private conversation is more credible than ANY rumor posted by pundits this time of year. I would bet money that each of them has reported multiple contradicting rumors, partly because they want clicks and partly because teams are throwing out dozens of red herrings for them to grab onto. Throw in the possibility the teams are flip-flopping.

It's debatable. Here is Pat McAfee talking about what I'm talking about. Could also be bullshit.

That was posted 2 weeks ago. And you know what, I would have agreed with you 100% at that time, you would have been absolutely correct. The tides however have begun to change in the last day and a half. I was 'mildly' surprised, but not really that Carolina was so enamored with Bryce Young.

Young's favorite player is Steph Curry. I believe that's how he views himself, a point guard of the offense. His decision making and leadership skills are said to be off the charts.

I can't believe we are still 20 days away. It can't get here fast enough. And you're ultimately right, at the end of the day it's all really click bait.

If the agent really did say he's not talking to anyone outside the top 10 that's even stupider than his client's decisions/behavior.
His agent is Drew Rosenhaus, I doubt there's anybody in the world that knows the negotiating-for-athletes game than him. He knows what he's doing... every if we don't.

My thinking is the Eagles told him they would definitely take him at 10 if he was there. Maybe another team, too. I am convinced the Eagles want him badly - I've heard it from several Philly people, and there are a few of his ex Georgia teammates on the team that probably vouch for him.
Yeah, they have already cut a deal with a top ten team

I suppose it's entirely possible they've changed their minds in the past couple of weeks, but that seems odd, considering they traded up to #1, and they MUST have had a plan for a particular guy at that point. Of course, it's the Panthers, so it's entirely possible they have no plan.

I'm sticking with them taking Stroud. I think these latest rumors are just them doing damage control. Maybe trying to sucker a team like Houston to swap picks, gain some draft capital back, and still get their guy. In the end, I think both those guys are the real deal. Young has a bit of an RGIII feel to him, though, not sure he'll last a long time.

I think it's the Eagles too, if not the Bears.

I do too, except I feel that way about all 4 QB's. They all have their warts, but they all have their strengths too.

Whatever they do at #5, bet we are all wrong. Until I hear Jalen Carter is an irredeemable dirtbag Pete can't fix, I'm picking him. Or Tyree, or barely trading back in the Top 10.

I'm not going 243 pounds of Will Anderson, or future project Anthony Richardson in the NFL draft this year,

Show me the beef:

DT
OG
RB
LB
QB
