Just think the Pro day deal has gotten blown all out of proportion. It's evidence of his being lazy, not working hard? Okay, is there any other evidence of that?
I saw at least one report where the coach who was working him at Pro Day went out of his way to kick his ass during the drills and, despite his weight gain, he was on the field judged against players who weighed between 60 and 85 pounds less than him.

I still want the guy and believe that PC and JS are going to make a totally informed decision about whether he is worth the risk. They've been bitten before with Malik and other big names we've acquired in signings like Percy and Graham. They are going to be extra-diligent in assessing him, without rose-colored glasses and with what they see with their own eyes. I think they are looking deep into this kid's soul and if they find him lacking heart and desire, they will pass on him.

Everything else is just speculation, hype and click bait.

One thing is certain: I have a giant boner for this draft and can't wait for April 28th.

We've been over all the red flags, and I am not discounting them, but DAMN Carter is talented. He's supposedly in town today, I would LOVE to be a fly on the wall.

It would be great for about 24 hours but then you would be dead. Hopefully you would be kind enough to report what you heard here before you die?
Yeah, I think the last thing I'd want to be is a fly, unless it's the one that got into the transporter with Jeff Goldblum.

All valid points. But, to make the comparison again, if you walk into an interview drunk, they aren't going to hire you, even if you were drunk because you mother just died. I get it, poor comparison because you would just move the interview. But, THAT alone could cost you the job. He has a history of this as well. Not good for his draft stock.

I don't believe pro day equates as a job interview, it doesn't carry that kind of weight, at least for a player like Carter. Teams are going to look at his resume on the field. His pro day isn't going to change that opinion the way a job interview might
.“You’ve got to keep in mind. Pro days are pro days,” Kiper said. “That’s not playing football. … All that stuff is away from the football field. On the football field, Jalen Carter was phenomenal and Jalen Carter came back from an ankle and a knee in September to finish out the year to help this team win a national title. So, when you look at on the field, he’s the best player. As a football player, he’s the best player in this draft.

“I think teams from five where Seattle picks down to 10 where Philadelphia picks and everyone in between there from 5-10 there could use a Jalen Carter. That’s why I don’t think he’ll fall very far come late April.”

Good Lord. Someone like Collier can jump up the draft board for what he does at Senior Bowl fucking practices, but now? Pro Days aren't job interviews.
Carter, who was once considered a potential No. 1 pick in April's draft, weighed 323 pounds at the pro day. He opted to do only position drills and didn't participate in other aspects of the workout, including the 40-yard dash, cone drills and other physical tests
My freaking GOD! The guy barely did ANYTHING at his Pro Day and still collapsed after a few drills because the darn coaches were just so mean to him! WTF am I witnessing here?

Senior Bowl practice is a week of being pitted against some of the best college players on the country as opponents. Yeah, I can that being more insightful than a pro day

Again, it had nothing to do with him doing jack shit on the field as a college player. Collier had a good week at the Senior Bowl. That's the last good week of anything he has had. So, yeah, I'd say they shouldn't have used that as a reason to draft him.

If the Combine and Pro Days aren't these guys trying to show NFL coaches and scouts what they can do, then what the fuck are they?

This could seriously scramble the eggs is Houston finds a way to drop out of #2 and stay in the top 7 or 8. The likely candidate to take #2 from Houston are the Raiders. But are they willing to give up the capital to do so?
