Damn! Valiant effort at the end. Longest 20 seconds ever.

Oh well... In their wins this series, Kraken seemed extra fast and energetic. This game they never looked like that. I'm sure credit goes to Dallas for throwing them off their game.

Exciting run, no doubt.

They battled to the end. Good fighting spirit. Was watching the game alongside the Ms game. Hockey might have a good future in Seattle.

Good run, Kraken! Seattle has new heroes! We want to put you up next to the Seattle Metropolitans of 1919. The Stanley Cup was called a 2-2-1 tie with the Montreal Canadiens due to the flu. No winner in 1919, but Seattle came awfully close.

I guess I was referring to the NHL having a good future in Seattle then. Seems the awarding of a franchise was long overdue?

Yeah, don't know why it took so long to land a NHL franchise. Seattle Metropolitans were actually the first American team to win the Stanley cup, that was 1917. Had a Czech friend I would drive nuts with that, he wouldn't accept it as legitimate. The name is on the Cup

There had been various attempts at landing a NHL franchise over the years. The city had been awarded one in 1974
On June 12, 1974, the NHL announced new expansion teams in Denver and Seattle that would start play in the 1976–77 season. Vince Abbey led the Seattle group. The Seattle team, which according to season ticket promotions would have kept the WHL name of Totems, never played a game. The NHL rescinded the expansion offer later in 1974 after Abbey missed deadlines to pay a deposit and a franchise fee
City really does have a history of flakey ownership
